Portal signings, at least contacts with players and schools, has been ongoing for some time. The GM model you mention already exist, to some degree, at most schools already.

Drake was beaten by Washington State on 3/21/24…….WVU announced DDV as the head coach on 3/24. If any WVU supporters truly believe that WVU admin waited until Drake was out to start having conversations……..well…….that’d be ridiculous……just sayin’

I thought it was interesting that during the press conference DDV talked about the conversations he had with all involved in the hiring process……kind of led me to believe conversations had been going on for weeks. Kind of debunks the whole “knee jerk” hiring comments. I think the process was pretty intentional…..I think they got the guy they wanted, that checked the most boxes……..and most importantly a guy that wanted IU back.
