The rational side of my brain has always felt that this process will play out until IU’s season is done out of respect for Woody (and the season of the candidate coach, if it is a coach). But right now it feels like something is about to pop.

I started the McCollum food fight this morning so it’s someone else’s turn.

I know people have talked a lot about Archie Miller and I just wanted to bring one facet up that hasn’t been discussed. Archie was indeed one of the hit names of up and coming coaches. He was coaching in Dayton. But the way things played out, OSU knew something. They didn’t want to be saddled with him because they knew if they moved on from Thad Matta, the fan base would clamor for Miller. OSU patiently waited for IU to grab Miller. Only then did OSU move on from Matta and hire Holtman. This has always bothered me. That IU administration got played by OSU because OSU did their homework and IU did not. I’m hoping this group does not experience the same shortcomings. I have no reason to believe the will.

The email that allegedly went out to the AD and Hoosiers Connect asking for their availability over spring break. Speculation is they’d be needed for a flood of donations upon the naming of a coach in short order.

I was told this morning from a friend who is tangentially connected that it’ll be McCollum. I’m not happy to report this and I’m no insider so I have no issue with this being dismissed by anyone or everyone on this board. This is a friend who is not prone to hyperbole or gossip. I’m confident that he 100% believes it. He said, as you’d suspect, that they are waiting for Drake’s season to be done to announce it. I don’t think this comports with the email tidbit from yesterday. But, I figured I share it.

Technically, that’s not an undertaker. Just your basic presumed dead guy or zombie.
