General Coach Candidate News
Mike Rodick replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
10 years ago I would've been saying a very loud "Hail No" to Will Wade, but with what college sports has become now I say why not offer him the job and if he accepts IU would most likely win enough to make most forget about his screw up at LSU.Lots of folks seem to think we were fools to self report the Sampson stuff which became legal a year or two after it happened,it's pretty much on par with Wade's infraction now which has become fair game in college sports...but I'm just a selfish old man and want to win now before I'm just a memory -

He will still get the same amount of interest from schools looking for a basketball coach than Woodson will. -

I wish every coach IU hired loved IU as much as Tom Allen. -

I'm really hoping someone gets in Woodsons ear and convinces him to not go out like a jerk after coaching his last game in the Hall.I'm sure he feels like he's been crapped on,even though most would agree he's not earned the right to any more time coaching the team.We can hopefully try to forget these last 4 years of lackluster coaching and just try to remember him for the incredible player he was at IU. -

Gilmour is the best to ever pick up a guitar,EVH is right behind him....but I'm almost certain neither of them could bust a zone defense. -

Agree about EVH,he was a demon on the guitar...also agreed on wanting a "right now" kinda coach,I'm getting along in years too and would love to see a few good seasons of IU basketball with my Grandsons before they plant me in my forever hole in the dirt...are there any VH tribute bands that do Roth and Hagar VH tributes? -

Now I'm wondering how many old folks are looking up bukkake films....man I would love to see their faces, not the actresses face, but the old folks that are in for a bit of a shock. -

Mike Davis might have been the best human being to hold the coach position at IU,just not so great at some of the other stuff a coach needs. -

They could very well come back and win this game (stranger things have happened),but at this point it seems like Woodson has the team about as interested as he is in actually putting any effort in,with the exception of a dive on the floor here and there they seem like they would rather be almost anywhere.Mgbako has zero interest in helping his team. -

I would lean towards whichever coaches team wins between Henryville and Silver Creek this season as opposed to the current IU coach. -

I know I'm probably in the minority here but why not take the NIT bid?.IU is pretty much an NIT type team the last 20 years with the exception of a season or two here and there where the basketball God's felt sorry for us and threw us a bone only to bury it in the neighbors yard where we couldn't find very easily soon thereafter.Assuming that guys like Ware,MM,Reneau and any injured players would not be available should not be an excuse not to play in it,there are several players that never got the opportunity to play this year because we did not have any of the traditional "clear the end of the bench" blowouts of the opponents that good teams have and we used to have and those players worked hard in practice all year and never got to play in front of their family and friends and the NIT would give those guys an opportunity.By turning down an NIT bid it almost makes it sound like it's beneath IU to accept it when in reality it's probably what should be expected with what the program has become.
