  1. EVERYONE will be better than IU next year. I think OSU hiring Diebler is a good thing for us long term though. Much better than if they went out and got a proven stud coach.
  2. 4d chess…You can’t get booed off the court if you get ejected early.
  3. Yeah, it’s def the refs’ fault we’re playing like this.
  4. Wait. Are we never going to get confirmation of NGW’s “high level athlete” past now? I was really looking forward to hearing about the second place finish in the 5th grade church league tourney…
  5. Tom and Scott sitting around handing each other the different sections of the printed newspaper while CBS Evening News plays in the background.
  6. I’m sure this is pure copium, but… If Woodson was really secure in the knowledge that he was coming back, would he feel the need to be so defensive and combative?
  7. I’m personally still waiting for NGW to tell us what high level sport he played. Oh wait, you probably “already answered that” and it was just in that pesky invisible ink the internet is infamous for.
  8. I really need to step in and defend Woodson on the topic of the recruiting question and answer earlier. The problem was that the question had an imbedded false assumption. The transcript was as follows - “Q - I know you guys as a program put a lot of time and effort into recruiting. How concerned are you at this point just in terms of 2024 and how the class has turned out to this point?” Poor Mikey was probably so befuddled by the first sentence that he didn’t know how to answer. Can’t hardly blame him. On a serious note, I really do appreciate the subtlety of the reporter framing it as “as a program” rather than simply “you.”
  9. This is such a sketchy way of framing the math. Year 1 - Coach 1 is fired. For all we know, they’re ending an illustrious 20 year career. New coach is hired. Year 4 - Second coach is fired after 3 bad seasons. Year 5 - Third coach starts. That is NOT some sort of massive churn. That is cutting bait on one bad decision in a reasonable time frame.
  10. Excellent. Burn baby burn. I’m hoping IU has a worse year than Detroit Mercy next season.
  11. No I don’t. I think Brian Walsh gets the point.
  12. Dear Chris007, I am an emotionally vulnerable 53 year old who still lives in his mother’s basement. I am currently engaged in a significant revisionist history because I am amazingly too immature to accept my disappointment in the coaching situation. Despite the fact that I boastfully posted numerous emails I sent to the IU administration asking for a change, I am now pretending that nothing of the sort ever happened. I would also like to take this opportunity to lecture the entire fan base on what it means to be a “true fan.” It’s quite simple - if you don’t agree with all of my perspectives, then you’re not an actual fan and I will treat you with disdain. Sincerely, Scott Roberts
  13. Never in the history of the internet has a joke flown so low that it couldn’t clear Scott’s head.
  14. Scott, no offense, but you seem to still believe news is broken by Walter Cronkite. It’s 2024. The Trillys of the world are far more relevant than ESPN or SI.
  15. Just to try to move the topic in a new direction - Pearl hosted the #1 prospect in the 2025 class yesterday on an official visit. Kid may be the best pure scorer in a decade. Wouldn’t that be a nice house warming gift…
  16. He has been directly asked several times exactly what level he played at, as well as what level his son played, and he continues to avoid answering the question. Despite making 928 other posts and responding to every other comment in the thread. He has chosen his words carefully, and I personally don’t think it was even basketball he played “at a high level.” My personal guess is he got a yellow belt in youth karate.
  17. UVA is definitely struggling in the new NIL world. What I don’t know is if TB would be interested in a program that could compete in that world, or if he’s just reaching the point where he walks away, either to NBA or retirement. I’ve always hated the argument that his team’s are too boring to watch. When he’s got talent, UVA’s offensive efficiency has been quite good. What is a challenge in the current environment, however, is that the pack line takes time to learn, and it’s hard these days to keep kids around while they’re are not getting as much PT as they are learning it.
  18. Anyone able to recap what Jeff Borzello from ESPN had to say in his coaching carousel update?
