I have no idea how this team will do next year. I do know that if you are unimpressed/disappointed with the roster at this point, you’re just the type of person who complains about the taxes when winning the lottery. We have much better shooters, much better guards, more athleticism…but we don’t have traditional big men so how are we going to compete in the mighty Big 10 with all the titles the conference has won since these players have been born? Again, I have no idea what will happen next year. But sitting here today, I feel much better than if Woodson was still coach and trying to get some more ranked players to get us over the hump.

If our bench players couldn’t start for the national champions, what’s the point? I’m not going to get excited until whatever Torvik is says I should.

Would you trade it for portal haul last year? I'm not saying this is you but it amazes me that people put any stock in portal player rankings. Also, to my knowledge, we aren’t done yet.

I’d don’t think he is some villain but this narrative that IU was the bad guy here is silly. IU hired him after he cheated at OU and then he cheated again. Didn’t make him a villain. Does make him a two time caught cheater. He did his time and it’s over. I don’t have any ill will towards him but I also don’t blame IU. So let’s get a great staff and get IU to where we want to be.

I’m old enough to remember when IU was the talk of CBB and the portal. Got us to the second day of the BTT. I want commits, too. But I also want DeVries to put together a team he wants and let’s see what he can do.

If I’m understanding things correctly, we can’t get players at IU regardless of the money and we aren’t spending the money we have. On April 2. I get the PTSD of sucking as a program for so long, but holy hell…..some people need a snickers bar.

People can be solid posters and have bad takes. Or, they can be crappy posters like me with occasional good takes. It’s just weird that people think this is a bad pick up. If DeVries has a bad year next year, we aren’t going to be saying, if he just didn’t sign that Enright kid, we’d be elite.

Have you applied for a position with IU? With your scouting and film watching acumen, could use you. They are cleaning house so now is the time.

If that happens, then he won’t get much playing time. People think we are going to run 13 players out there with equal playing time? Yeah, your watching videos and stats is much better than what DeVries sees in this kid.

In what worked is this awful? If your answer is, he is the only PG we end up with, that stills doesn’t mean this is awful. It would be the lack of another PG that would be awful. Which is highly unlikely. Sorry, thinking getting Enright has a chance of being awful is silly.

Agree with this. Given how DeVries has explained what he wants from players, it would be a shock for any to return. Especially given they would almost for sure take a pay cut.

I don’t think the fact that none may come back means the meetings didn’t go well. Other than Goode, I hope none come back. And if you mean not well from the players’ perspective, I don’t really care.

I know it’s easy to say but he seems to really mean it when he is out to build a team and not a roster. His comment about not taking some players with red flags because of what it might due to the locker room is big. Again, I know it’s words. But he has repeated that several times so it’s deep seated, IMO.

Not sure why I would start that thread. I like the hire. I don’t think people make fun of IU fans because they are fickle. They make fun of some fans because they are delusional.
