  1. Not going to lie, I read that this morning and immediately thought the same.
  2. It’s been said but I honestly think a tournament spot is the sweet spot. Would put the “fading program” talk in the rear view, be an obvious change from recent years that re-engages fans, and gives Woodson a chance to show off his coaching prowess by getting a postseason win (or more). We do that, none of which is crazy to expect, and the future is as bright as we can make it.
  3. Total agreement here. I know I'm at risk of eating my words, but we were being offered a tournament spot on a silver platter this year, even while we underperformed, and we still fumbled it away with that losing streak to end the year. With TJD coming back and even a modest upgrade in coaching, I see us right back in that spot next year.
  4. THIS. I can tell that Woody wants to keep our guys to the extent that it makes sense. But if we get some surprising transfers? Now that will tell us something about the appeal of playing for an NBA vet. They may not even go after transfers that hard, but if they do and it works... very exciting for the future.
  5. Even if you're going to argue that the offense "looked 41-ish," (hit or miss on when I'd agree with that), we weren't executing with any motion at all. We were mostly just standing around.
  6. For anyone curious about the "1-in, 4-out" offensive style that Dolson described Woodson as bringing: https://www.basketballforcoaches.com/4-out-1-in-offense/
  7. Think he was saying you call it like you see it too often without really adding anything to the conversation.
  8. Seemed like a lot of conversations were happening with his agent, not him directly. He was probably interested but at the end of the day using the situation to get a raise sounded just as good.
  9. Let’s stop sharing troll posts from fans of rival schools and instead look at the reaction from Woody’s actual former team. They’re very sad to lose him.
  10. Agree with this. There will always be doomsayers claiming “everyone else turned us down” but I take people at their word. Dolson wanted an NBA guy that recruits would like and who would install a modern system. Yes he inquired with a few others, but this seemed to be the direction the entire time.
  11. I think this is more important than most “traditional” college ball fans are going to give it it credit for. Players are no longer lining up for the coaches that will help them learn how to shoot free throws. Even Coach K has had to adapt to that reality in the past few years. Winning is the most important factor, but influence is second.
  12. The person who did that is most likely a retiree who wants nothing more than to relive IU’s mid-70s glory days. In other words, they are the direct audience that this hire is intended to please.
  13. More than willing to give him a chance. I believe he could do very well and have always believed this is an upgrade. But what a strange roll out.
  14. Maybe he had that tweet scheduled for last Sunday and just got the date wrong.
  15. I like seeing the Staff posts on Peegs, but... anything newsworthy happens people are usually on it here before they are there (other than, of course, the staff posts).
  16. Going to Indy, not Bloomington. Separate flight to Zionsville that I’m not sure is related. They are both Netjets, though. Generally a positive sign. Private executive charter planes generally. Lots of them around though not too rare.
  17. Boston plane lands in Indy at 2:53, FYI to all.
  18. Picture is just a “watch to see if we have a new Pope” joke. He’s been posting it throughout.
  19. Has the interesting one from yesterday been discussed? I did not see any mention of it here. My own conclusions are that it was a coincidence.
  20. The Hoosiers are zeroing in on Steve Kerr. I heard it from @Treesh. Rock solid info. Would’ve been Pop but he needs a dry southern climate. Failed his physical due to humidity.
  21. Stevens has been answering this question in every press conference—he believes it’s his job to honor his commitment to his team and not leave in the middle of a season. His words, not mine. But you’re correct... hard to imagine this literally lasting until June. At least not without everyone figuring it out post-tournament.
  22. My read on the situation, based on careful observation and not much info, was that Stevens wanted to kill the talk to buy time—maybe even a lot of time—and he botched the delivery (aka Masshole). What is your take on that theory?
  23. Had a Stevens couch rumor earlier this week ironically.
