Has anyone ever heard the Nebraska softball team coach and players? They’re not the only example. People are getting WAY too caught up with this. If IU hires him he can very much display his faith while at IU. If he wants to personally lead the team in prayer, he can. I think it’s pretty crazy that he’s going “force” players or staff to submit to his way of thinking. He’s gotten ELITE recruits. You think everyone ND football signs is catholic? Sounds like we’ll lose more fans for hiring a religious guy than if we hired Beard the woman assaulter. What a backwards world we live in.

It’s more like saying if Bruce Pearl was a middle school teacher and IU was his dream job and the offered him half his salary he would take it in a heartbeat. Except he isn’t a middle school teacher. The AD is 60. TJ is 47. They may have went to the same high school but I don’t think I’d qualify that as being buddies. So that alone makes me think this is all bogus.

I don’t know why people are scared to hire re-treads or P5 coaches that maybe didn’t have as much success the first time. Is it my first choice? No. But if we miss on Stevens, Otz, May, and Drew then I’d take a look at someone like a Collins or Pitino. Barnes is having way more success at UT than he ever did at Texas or Clemson. McDermott did not do well his first P5 gig. Otz while not P5 the mountain west is arguably better some years and he did not do well. I’m sure there are others that fit into this category.

Because everyone involved is keeping it quiet/professional? It may not end up being BS but it being quiet shouldn’t surprise anyone. If the last 8 years of coaching searches taught us anything it’s likely when a coach is being rumored - they aren’t the guy.

Can we get a Brad Stevens announcement like Andrew Luck’s retirement? IU makes BTT that’s back in Indianapolis and during their game news leaks that BS is going to be the head coach. Or maybe he’s in attendance “looking at players for the draft” and news leaks while he’s present. Thats my dream scenario.

Instead of a head coach and assistants maybe Dolson is looking at the big ten retread experiment. A combination of Tim Miles, Mark Turgeon, Richard Pitino, and Pat Chambers. Others in consideration would include Tom Crean, John Groce, Steve Alford and Chris Holtman. Special advisors Gary Williams and John Beilein. Still need someone for the GM position.

I think if you guys are expecting Drew, I think the only one we’d get is younger brother Bryce. That’s me throwing a random name out. Sure he sucked at Vanderbilt but he landed Darius Garland over IU if I recall. That season hurt after DG went down after like 6 games.

If we can’t get this level then you just have to go NFL coach route. Pick the next up and comer - McCollum, Schertz, DaVries and it’ll be not stop 4 year cycles until you hopefully hit.

I think the name was thrown out a few 100 pages ago. But what about Shaka Smart? Hard to find much on salary with private school but I think I saw it was around $3 million. I know he wasn’t great at Texas but he’s done well at Marquette and he’s still just 47.

Coach Cig is in the company as the rest of the fanbase. We’re all sick of the basketball around here. Just for different reasons I’m sure.

With the salary we can offer and our NIL budget we should be able to hire a coach that can get us consistently into the tournament, with teams that frequently are favorites to make it to the second weekend, and at times put it all together for a championship run.

Can we all agree that in the absolute long shot that Stevens does become the coach, that these holier than thou posters get a ban? Joined within the last week and then feel like they have to carry it forward? This board has been great without you.

Can someone reshare how to block someone? I’ve never needed it until now. I’ve weeded out insufferable people in my real life. Certainly don’t need to put up with them on a message board.
