I don't watch the NBA besides Pacers games. What is hurting the college game is that they are trying to be like the NBA so they can get the NBA talent.

Actually the big ten now is not very good but compared to the rest it is better. If you want to see a stacked Big ten and was stacked with great players you need to go back to the 80's and 90's. The difference is today that the top of the big ten is so much weaker than it use to be but the bottom is stronger so it makes it look tougher.

Yeah thin new school college basketball is almost unwatchable with the kind of offense we see ran. Basketball was meant to be played with a fluid motion with players moving and cutting. It is meant to be played with the ball moving by passes and guys coming off screens off the ball. All this guys standing around and having guys go one on one or having ball screens is ruining the college game. The 30 second shot clock has made offense so hard to run and it has made offense so stagnant. Scoring was higher and shooting was higher before they even had a shot clock and the 3 point line but now guys can't shoot worth a damn.

I graduated from high school in 89 which is the same class as Cheaney and the Graham's. I have watched IU win 3 championships and RMK made the game simple but today people want to try to re invent the game but it is for the worse.

The object of the game has been the same since it was invented and that is to get the ball to go into the hoop. The younger generation with their analytics tries to make basketball a lot harder than it is. You want players who can shoot and get the ball in the basket. On defense you need to have players who can stop the other team from getting the ball in the basket. Guys sports is not rocket science but people who uses analytics all the time is trying to make it more difficult than it really is.

Like I said if you are worried about age we just seen a 76 year old coach get into the sweet 16. He has to be able to coach and teach the game and doesn't have to play the game.
-
I am feeling old when we are arguing with a person who was in middle school in 2006. This generations thinks if they didn't see it happen then it doesn't matter.

Anyone worried about a coaches age a 76 year old coach is going to the sweet 16

I liked when Lewis threw the ball in the face of the Iowa player

Candidate Thread: Porter Moser

I never thought Smart would translate to the power 5 conference because of his style at VCU. He seemed to change everything and went away what worked at VCU so maybe he needs to go back to that style. Sometimes a coach needs to be true to himself and do wat was successful instead of trying to change. -

Just because you interview someone doesn't mean you will hire him. Lord knows I have had a lot of interviews where I wasn't hire.
-
Probably because those are the only two we have interviewed so far,

Tom Allen said he was walking down the beach in Florida and some older couple stopped him because they recognized him.
-
You actually think Matta could go out in Columbus and people not recognize him. I don't live in Ohio but I would know who he wa sif I saw him.

Why not let it play out before making judgement on a hire that hasn't happened yet. I find it funny that posters on here and other boards take the words of so called insiders as gospel. Anyone on the board could come in and say they have sources and say things will happen even though they have no clue what is going on. -
If he is fully healthy Matta would be at the top of my list
-
Sampson brought in guys who were drug abusers and pimps so he needed to go for that reason.
-
Mike Davis was an IU guy when he was hired
-
Could interviewing him a way to appease the players who want a former player to be considered
-
I just hope whoever is hired that fans would give them a chance and support them because that is what is needed.
-
But who would be out there next year that isn't already available this year.
