I have read the thread and please please since you just said it yourself, how is his resume not half bad? He’s only had three winning seasons. I’ve read the thread and it’s crazy talk about Woodson being some good nba coach. If he didn’t go to IU his name would be laughed at by the same posters defending him.

You won’t get an answer for that, just some responses explaining how he was a good nba coach despite his record.

Then why would he? No one can give any other reason other than he was an unsuccessful nba coach on here. Please give one reason he makes a good candidate beside playing at IU?

No we also have stats and records, if you think a guy with 3 winning seasons in 8 is somehow a good candidate then that’s on you. I for one don’t want a coach who’s not been successful in the nba plus has no college coaching experience.

Who cares he’s had 3 winning seasons in 8. Please tell me how that’s good? Oh wait because Musselman flamed out went to Nevada and then Arkansas so it’s got to work with Woodson right?

If you think Woodson is a good candidate then my oh my have the expectations fallen. As an alum it’s sad to see how bad we’ve become and this type of hire would be the end.

No having 3 winning seasons in 8 full years isn’t good. I don’t care how many stats you put up because a losing record is still....... a losing record. Oooook Oh so the one winning season is supposed to be impressive? How’d he do after that? Losing record the next year so that’s not consistent If he’s so great like you keep saying why hasn’t he been hired in the last 7 years as a head coach?????? Only been about 20 openings

I agree about the alumni factor and I agree I don’t want Woodson either. Great respect for him as a person and player, I met him in 2009 when I was a student and he was a great guy.

Again you’re making excuses, he’s had 3 winning seasons in 8 as a head coach. FULL SEASONS not some interim job for 24 games. Who cares about improving if you still having a losing record?

If Woodson wasn’t a former IU star people would be shocked and angry if we were linked with an nba coach who had his record. Especially without any college coaching experience.

How is 3 winning seasons in 8 good? Maybe not a dumpster fire but it’s not good and lends no confidence that he’d succeed at IU.

Ya Altman isn’t some old coach without recent success. He’s been to the tourney 8 of the last 9 times, 3 of the last 4 S16’s and a final four run in 2017.

Agreed, made 8 of the last 9 tournaments, 3 S16’s in the past four years. Plus a final four run thrown in there.

I believe IMO since the tourney is in our state, he still may be coaching currently in the tournament. If it got out we were looking at them, they wouldn’t get any questions except about being linked with the job which would only cause distractions for them. That’s the only reason I can come up with.

I know Texas has boatloads of athletic department revenue etc but they just fired Tom Herman who they now owe $15 million and his staff another $9million. That doesn’t include the money for the Sark deal either so I have a hard time believing they’re going to pay 20 something million just to buyout Beard on top of the contract they’d have to offer.

You don’t or shouldn’t need to apologize, you’re only sharing what you hear and this entire situation has been crazy. I’m grateful and have been since the old scout site with the late milehi telling us about Sampson. I for one appreciate all the info.
