Box is a great coach and will be missed, but also excited he is getting a head coaching opportunity. -

She will start at UNC. Most likely would have been coming off the bench for us.

Officials are not perfect but looking at the rules for women's basketball, they go it correct in this instance. f. Attempting to gain an advantage by interfering with the ball after a goal or by failing to immediately pass the ball to the nearest official after a whistle is blown (See Rule 10-12.3.k); Art. 2. One team warning shall be given for each of the delays in Rule 4-9.1.d through .g. Each warning shall be reported to the official scorer. Thereafter, a technical foul shall be assessed for the delay that has previously received a team warning. PENALTY (Art. 3.a through .l): Two free throws awarded to the offended team. Following the last free throw, play resumes with a throw-in by the offended team at the division line opposite the scorers’ table or a jump ball to start the first quarter. A player/substitute technical foul shall apply toward an individual’s five personal fouls toward disqualification, two technical fouls toward ejection and the team-foul total. Well, Wikipedia as a backup source sucks. Tennessee was a 1 seed. Baylor was a 2 seed. -

I cheated and used ChatGPT for your question. Here is the ChatCPT response. Yes, there have been women's basketball champions who did not have to beat a #1 seed to win the championship. One example is the 1997 Tennessee Lady Volunteers team, which won the championship without having to play a #1 seed. They defeated #16 seed San Francisco, #9 seed Illinois, #5 seed Colorado, #3 seed Iowa, and #4 seed Old Dominion to win the title. Another example is the 2005 Baylor Lady Bears team, which won the championship without facing a #1 seed. They defeated #16 seed Southern, #9 seed LSU, #5 seed Michigan State, #3 seed Maryland, and #2 seed Michigan to win the title. Tennessee was a 3 seed in 1997. Baylor was a 2 seed in 2005. -
We do need to fill spots from the transfer portal as running a roster of 11 is not enough. Even as an optimist, we will have games missed for minor injuries and sickness. These are inevitable over a season. I can see us getting two or three out of the portal. I am trusting in CTM and staff to get the right ones.

We now have 4 net openings. Here is a summary on getting to the total. We have 15 to give out in total. We had 13 on the roster at the end of the year. We graduate 2 and we had 2 enter portal. We have given out 2 to the incoming Freshman.

My preference would be to pick up someone with 3 years, sits most of this year and develops behind Holmes/Meister. Then when Meister takes over, they can come off the bench for Meister. -

It seems like we are in a place where we could invest in a transfer with 2-3 years eligibility for the post-Holmes era. I see it less likely that we would bring in a grad transfer. Whoever comes in needs to fit our culture and what our offense and defense will look like next year. -

Correct women get 15 total. We had 13 on roster at end of year. Gain 2 with Grace and AG graduating. Those taken by incoming athletes which leaves us with two. -

I did turn it off for this exact reason and went to bed. -
A period of time is not defined by individual moments but how you handle yourself over the connected moments. I have never meet Grace personally but I have read quotes from those that have met her briefly or over an extended time and what has always been true is that Grace has been more to others than to herself. Her parents could never have realized that a name would be more fitting than Grace.

Still processing the loss last night and reflecting back on what was a historical season. We had so many firsts for our team this year that it was hard to keep track. We will miss Grace and her poise and strength of character, but I believe her spirit will remain strong in this team as they move forward. Reflecting on our losses this year, we can sum them up as 12 points. (5, 1, 4, 2). To me, this shows that no matter how much the team was down during a game, they fought to the end and had chances to win all four.
