To say they don’t understand is probably not a fair characterization. Perhaps a reasonable position for some is that because Collins is N’western’s best coach, that means he’s better than Bill Foster, Bill Carmody, etc, & I don’t think they or any other Northwestern coach has done much elsewhere, so that may just be a tallest midget accolade. Not referring to you specifically, but some on here call everything delusional that comes from people that share what they hear. Posters act like those that share are just lying for their own egos. I'm just glad that Stuhoo shared what he shared so that people see that others DO have information that is credible that hasn't been shared by the media. I don’t think anyone here is lying. I think people are playing the telephone game & are taking indications the search is going well from people that really don’t know anything & running with it. Don’t blame them for sharing, but some(by no means all)are misrepresenting their level of certainty…

I’m not trying to pick on Jerry, I bet he’s a swell fellow & it’s cool that he shares some of what he hears with us, but I’d say there’s pretty good reason for the skepticism considering this is playing out just like last time, only drawn out much longer. When he says he’Il let the lid off later in the week, it will most likely be to explain how we struck out on the whales. I envy those of you that are optimistic it’s gonna be a big splash hire, but I’m betting it’s a dud (Brownell) or a big risk (McCollum). No one will be happier to be wrong than me.
