  3. I just talked to Trey on Saturday and I can tell you that nothing that Evans is saying resonates with me. He is a national guy, and I can tell you that no one from Indiana's Rivals site was there on Saturday or any other time all summer.

  9. Obviously Evans isn't making stuff up, the question is how serious is IU. I talked to a Chicago area scout today that is very familiar with Lieb. He said he is not ready for the Big Ten now, but MAYBE if he spends a year in a strength program he could get where he needs to be......but mid-major is the more likely path right now.
  10. I appreciate the kind words. To be clear, the names on the list reflect varying degrees of involvement, but IU has at a minimum expressed some interest in everyone on the list.

  12. I'm not so sure about KBJ being a 2 to 3 year guy. He is a 5-star with an NBA style game.
  13. I think "Recruiting Analyst" would be a much more appropriate label IMO. I'm not disregarding them, I just expect much more from an expert.
  14. I was using Romeo as an example. One of many that shows when they choose to keep things close to the vest, the "experts" really don't know much. I don't mind being challenged at all. It helps me think more critically about things.
  15. I don't completely disregard it. I said it was right up there with horoscopes. Ok, that was tongue in cheek, but my main issue is with the self proclaimed "expert" label. I'm sure there is some occasional inside information, but being an expert suggests that you have really deep insights that others don't have. A lot of recruiting predictions are fairly easy. When it comes to the hard cases like Romeo, it quickly becomes clear that we aren't dealing with experts here.
  16. Look at Romeo's prediction history and tell me all about how solid it is. It's a bunch of guys guessing based on the limited information that is already out in the public.
  17. If they had any real information it would be out in the public. I think that is fairly obvious. I don't have an issue with how they make their money. It's a really good hustle actually. But if you are going to hold yourself out as an "expert", you better expect to have that questioned. Whether or not there is a model is irrelevant. No one cares how they internally rank themselves after the fact. Everyone just looks at their predictions on unsigned recruits, which is a hodgepodge of long held predictions and last second changes.
