  1. I've heard that he was originally planning on a spring announcement, anyone else see this anywhere?
  2. I will hold back my judgement of CAM until Justin Smith and Al Durham's senior season, I think it's important to see how he develops those guys, and if he can help them reach their full potential. Time will tell.
  3. Everyone forgets about Thompson, top 100, plus he has a year on campus and is year into Archie's system. I fully anticipate him being our best freshman next year, if aside from Romeo.
  4. Cannot succeed at IU if you cannot recruit.
  5. I guess, if you really look at it, CAM is doing a great job of ensuring our guys get shots, just don't go in so it's wasted. Right? RIGHT?
  6. Next year could be good, especially if we get Romeo, not gonna get my hopes up there though, but they add a capable PG, couple decent shooters, drop some dead weight. Add a couple capable big guys and I think they'll compete at a high level. They'll likely get Morgan back IMO, a 6 foot 7 inch power forward with a lacking long range jumper doesn't make GM's mouths water anymore.
  7. Last season was the worst for me, at least I didn't expect TOO much from this team, unlike last year. Or the Vonleh year, that was tough.
  8. Throw in a final four here and there and I'm with you. I'm just sick of missing tourneys every other year..
  9. Guess I'm focusing on the Blackhawks game my roommates watching. I don't even like the hockey...
  10. My dad is an Indiana kid born and raised, from Carmel, played middle school ball with Alan Henderson, (he said he was awful because his feet were too big for his body). I can tell he misses the Knight days, simply because he hates losing. Like I said, as a college student, I've only seen one year in which they were legitimate title contenders. I hope someday soon we can get back to that, I think Archie is a good enough coach to do that, but not if he can't recruit better than Crean. Time will tell, TJD will be telling if you ask me.
  11. That, mixed with the fact I became a fan during the Eric Gordon year, when I saw my first game. I have yet to really see any great IU basketball, aside from the year they should have won the title. My dad talks about how good IU was and I hope desperately Archie brings them back, I just stay cautiously optimistic.
  12. Has he been to any games this year? I don't know why, I just have a really bad feeling that CAM could struggle on the recruiting trail, lets hope I'm wrong, maybe it's just the paranoid IU fan in me.
  13. Shittu had knee surgery, either yesterday or today, confused how they're saying he can be back by start of season? Normally ACL injuries take around a year to heal fully.
  14. Seeing Izzo expected to retire within next few days, wants to make a push to finish season, don't know if MSU will allow it. Don't know if this has been reported yet in this thread.
  15. When we say this, does this mean Mike Pegram, or someone on the site?
  16. I think Durham, in the long run will be a great 4 year player, right now, he is our 4th best guard. Defensively, he is very good though, and if he can develop a 3 point shot, he'll be perfect in Archie's system. As you said however, it will likely take time. Can't undersell how big RP is next year, but still going to be lacking in the guard category. Devonte Green (assuming he doesn't transfer) will have to be our second point guard, and unless Archie can really, REALLY rein him in, I don't see our guard play being much better. Here's to hoping though!
  17. This could easily be a 5 game skid for IU, immediately following the game against Michigan State is a road game against Rutgers and Rutgers is no pushover any more. Hope I'm wrong but that's what I see. This team is more than likely NIT bound, and frankly, I am okay with that. Losing 3 NBA players and inheriting a team that played no defense and turning them into one of the better defensive teams in Big Ten has been impressive if you ask me. Archie is a good coach, and the program is in good hands, last night hurt but there are better days ahead. Fortunately, I think this team is more mature and will be more inclined to succeed in the NIT than they were last year. It may not be ideal to cheer for a team in the NIT but you take any win you can in a coaches first year on the job.
