They keep asking him to wait, and be patient but his is still checking out all options

Michigan State is now starting to talk to Leal and his family. He's going to go to a game there soon with his family I was told.
-
Yes like his 4th the other night at almost half court. Or some that have been in the backcourt after a rebound.

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

Soon but don't think this weekend. Hope I'm wrong. -
My problem with Juwan this year is how many times has he picked up quick fouls to start the game. You can't lead by example sitting on the sidelines, plus we have to have him on the court for us to have a chance to win.

Having a close friend in the basketball office at Butler I asked about Holtmann when the job was open. I was told he said to his agent anyone else he had no interest in the IU job because he doesn't want a "pressure cooker" type of job. That is what made OSU so attractive it is always going to be a football school.

He's the leading scorer for the #1 team in the country. Complete BS he didn't make it. -
And Juwan is a senior and I'm pretty sure he was soft as a freshman. Myself would only call Evan soft, I think Romeo takes a pounding at times. Demezi should still be a TBD but being around his high school games no one called him soft.

But why change your style for this year? Look at the big picture and start playing the guys who are going to play the style you want to play for the next so many years.
-
Did he have to make some changes when he took Dayton to the elite 8?

Yeah I heard he doesn't want to come because Archie can't coach, fans whine a lot, and Izzo doesn't have these problems. -
I think he looked for a certain type of player.
-
I think this years team would be so much better if we had a McDermott or someone like that who can knock down shots.
-
Well, I guess we will just have to keep trying to fit that square peg into the hole this year. I would expect changes after this season.
-
I explained this but I will try to do a better job this time. Smith, Durham, Moore, Green, Davis were all recruited to play in a certain style of play and now have been thrown into a totally different style. Now as a coach do you change who you are to benefit this year's team but risk hurting future teams? Or do you try to get these guys to fit your style but risk losing some games that people don't think you should. And yes they do shoot at least that many if not more. Seen it with my own eyes.

Yes, I counted on two a year with Coach Knight in the old days. Expected it with Crean. Both NW and Nebraska were toss-up games according to Vegas so not sure were losing to lesser talent but hard to tell that to certain fans.
-
I'm under the impression that if you are spending time coaching effort or heart than you are not working on things you should be. College coaches should never have to coach effort. That guy was McRoberts last year, but don't have anyone like that this year it seems. Just my .02 cents

Walk into Assembly Hall or Cook Hall in the summer and see if these kids are putting up shots. I promise you they are. The two much weight lifting will hurt your shot is such a wise tail.
-
I totally agree with what you said. People forget that Archie took over an NIT team who lost their 3 leading scorers.
-
Northwestern played us tough twice and has some nice pieces. Nebraska is just better than us right now starting 4 or 5 seniors who have been around the big ten for a couple of years. Not sure about the other two games, I believe they were last year. Good luck finding someone who wants the job after you fire a guy a year in a half into his contract.
-
Not that they were ever coached by Crean, but they were his recruits. He was recruiting a certain type of kid who just doesn't fit the mold that Archie is trying to bring in. These kids have never had to play the defense that Archie wants them to play. Even Romeo, for the most part, hasn't ever had to really guard someone. I think Archie is wanting them to do things, that I'm just not sure they can do or his communicating skills are not getting the message across.

I really liked this quote from the Herald Times Jeremy Price. It's where I'm at after being around this team some. The suspension of Devonte Green before Tuesday’s game perhaps only further punctuates the gap that still exists between the soft, decaying leftovers of the previous coaching regime and the necessary buy-in to Miller’s tougher, blue-collar approach.

Sounds like we might need to ship him off to military school with that dam Finkelstein kid. Sorry just messing around but he will be out the next 3 games.
