  1. Not that it matters...but Portal Rankings on our guys so far per 247. Not sure on ESPN they don't update as much. Tucker DeVries #11 Reed Bailey #36 Lamar Wilkerson #40 Conor Enright #130
  2. That works too. Will obviously need a rim protector or two at some point.
  3. Like Bailey, he was 1st team All-Conference on a bad team. Will be fun to see what he can do with talent around him.
  4. Trilly. So it sounds like IU has 3 of their starters. PG and C are left.
  5. Question on Stirtz (Iowa) or Lendeborg (Michigan). Was looking at ESPN's '25 draft class rankings. Had Lendeborg at 28 and Stritz at 35. Is it a done deal they're coming back? Sounds like they are almost a lock to get drafted. Just trying to keep track of the Big Ten.
  6. One more thing on Bailey: I'd love to see what he can do on a talented team. Saw he was first team All-A10. Davidson finished 12th this year. That's like someone on Minnesota or Northwestern making first team All B1G this year.
  7. Lot to like about Reed Bailey's game. Really good passer for a guy that's 6'10. Have to assume he will shoot more than 1.2 threes a game in this offense.
  8. This may be an awful comparison so forgive me, but from what I've seen from Sisley, he reminds me in a way of Karaban from UConn. Not saying they are at all the same player, just the way they play. We all will do backflips if Sisley is as good as Karaban has been. As for Reed Bailey, assuming Bama and UK wanted him, I assume he may play a similar role that Grant Nelson (Bama) or Andrew Carr (UK) did this year. For Tucker, someone said this on here earlier and I agree, it seems like Tucker is a 3 on offense and a 4 on defense.
  9. I'm going to be honest I haven't watched any film of the guy, but Bailey can play 4 and 5 correct?
  10. You are spot on..all I heard in 2022 was how Hubert replaced a legend. Look how that's going for them. Same with Scheyer this week. He is able to get all the talent he wants. Ex: next year Boozer twins. He's won nothing. His first year they get spanked in the 2nd round by a Tennessee team that had nowhere near the talent they did. Last year blew it to an 11 seed in the Elite 8. Tonight blows a 14 point lead against Houston. He was a great player and seems like a great guy. I just think he's another golden boy the CBB media puts on a pedestal. I remember how surprised I was that he was going to replace Coach K. DePaul had just turned him down.
  11. Days like this are why this sport is awesome. Probably the second worst choke job I've seen in the NCAA tournament. The all-time one was Northern Iowa-Texas A&M. Scheyer is much more likeable than Coach K, but he's not all that like the media makes him out to be. He's been able to use the Duke brand to get Elite recruits. Blew it last year against an 11 seed in the Elite 8 and again this year against a Houston team that has nowhere near the talent Duke has.
  12. Best post I've seen about this. I think you are right. Let's see how things stand around April 21st.
  13. I agree and I am okay with this. Goodman said something the other night on F68 that I don't agree with. Said if Tucker is your 1st/2nd guy your team probably won't be good. Said if he's your 3rd/4th option, you can have a stacked team. Does he not realize Tucker was in the discussion for All-American at Drake? He probably makes it this year if he 's healthy.
  14. It's nowhere near the point to panic but I think people have a more reasonable case to be a little concerned that only two assistants have been hired over the two portal misses. Again, I'm not there yet. But would hope these get finalized rather soon. More assistants opens more doors for recruiting.
  15. One reason I'm not worried about the assistants is this: Coach DeVries has 18 years as an assistant coach and 7 years as a head coach under his belt. He built all kinds of connections throughout college basketball, unlike our previous coach. Even if he doesn't land Preston and/or the Texas Tech assistant, I'm sure he knows who else he wants. Edit: Landing Preston would be impressive. Nate Oats is a king in Alabama. Unless he chooses to, he's not going anywhere anytime soon. Preston has job security there. It would be a little bit of a risk to come to IU for him.
  16. I really want to go next year in Indy. Even if the seats aren't the best, I think it would be awesome to go up on a Friday. You probably run into all kinds of Big names in college hoops.
  17. Honestly, I can't blame any of these guys for taking their time. It's a tough decision. You make the wrong choice, you could end up in a situation like Myles Rice. Josh doesn't have any eligibility left, but if he makes the right choice he could have a senior season like Knecht. I don't want this to happen, but kudos to him if he ends up back at Iowa. No way are they offering anywhere close to what the other schools are.
  18. Last thing I'll say tonight: Coach DeVries could land the 92 dream team for next year. He has to start winning this season. Most of us were excited last year about the portal haul and it resulted in nothing. I'm very optimistic about the program going forward. I get the frustration though...we are all tired of mediocre basketball.
  19. I agree it's an L and it sucks. I wanted him. You wanted him. We all did. After the last few years I just don't care as much about losing guys. Not one single player is the savior. I just want DeVries to build a team for next year that we all will be happy with. That can happen without Conwell.
  20. If true that with Dix the main competition is Creighton and Illinois, we have to feel good right? With Conwell, Louisville and Texas had money. I don't think Creighton and Illinois are near that.
  21. I agree with you. That being said, ESPN has him as the #60 NBA prospect as a Junior. About spit my drink out. I know that doesn't mean he would get drafted but still. Very good college player. Can't see him ever in the NBA.
  22. Exactly. Need to build a team. Trevor on Peegs acting like $$$ didn't play a factor. I call BS. It's beyond obvious Louisville threw a lot of cash at him. He took the best offer. How it goes. I'd prefer not to spend a majority of the money on two guys. I will say this though..seeing guys like Dusty May, Mark Pope, Pat Kelsey have success year one makes me beyond furious this administration kept Mike Woodson for one more year. Love Coach DeVries so far but still. We are behind and that's how it's going to be for a little bit. Hopefully he wins in year one like they all did.
  23. That and this: Pat Kelsey had a very good first year at Louisville. Right now, DeVries at IU is all hope and potential. We hope and think he will be good, but nothing proven yet. Pat got another top guard in the portal plus a top ten recruit for next year. Hopefully that is us next year.
  24. Guys relax....Ryan Conwell is not bigger than the program. He isn't the savior. Yes, he's a really good player from an hour away. Would have LOVED to have had him. It sucks to lose him. There is going to be way more out there. Let's also keep in mind Indiana already has probably one of the top guys in the portal with Tucker. What I'm most excited about going after players like Conwell/Dix is this: We finally have a coach after 8 years who values shooting the ball. Let's see how things look in a few weeks.
