  1. Man, what a day! 1. Got to listen to the PC 2. Heard about CAM's plans to recruit Indiana using "Inside/Out" 3. Am optimistic Indiana will actually be known for defense again! ....and the capper to the evening .... Watched two Purdue students absolutely embarrass themselves on ESPN's Bracket Genius show. The two Qs they missed: 1) Who was the voice of Darth Vader, and the kicker, 2) What important document starts out with the words "We the People"?
  2. I think the opposite will happen. He's going to tell him what a leader he can and WILL be, and when guys start seeing him turn up his defensive intensity by about 1000% think of what's going to happen in that locker room.
  3. Dammit ... I'm not even a player and I'm ready to run through a wall for CAM. Now I understand why his players absolutely leave it on the floor every night for this guy. I am so excited for the future of IU basketball I cannot even think straight right now.
  4. "If they give one of their sons to IU, they expect them to be treated with the utmost class and respect. And they will be". Drop the mic, Archie.
  5. Love to hear him referencing the top-notch facilities. Those should be things that help sway recruits our way and if he's mentioning them here I can only imagine how he'll be talking it up with recruits.
  6. Damn I like this guy more and more every minute. I haven't heard one response from him that seemed canned or arrogant.
  7. Even in western PA (Pittsburgh) some can have a pretty heavy east-coast accent. I hear bits of it here and there, but nothing too overwhelming.
  8. No question they will get this done!!
  9. So .... can we finally put to rest the argument that Alford TURNED IU DOWN? How do you turn down an offer if you haven't even talked?
  10. Much like many of you, CAM was my first choice on Tier 2, after Stevens/Donovan. Wanted NOTHING to do with Alford or Marshall, so, IMO this was a "get" for Glass and Hoosier Nation. CAM is going to bring the energy and enthusiasm that CTC brought, but he'll also bring solid recruiting experience AND (from what I've seen) the in-game coaching intangibles that we have been a bit short on for a while. His teams get after it on the defensive side of the ball as well, so I think a few current players better stay in shape this off-season.
  11. I had to get up and walk for a bit after reading that drivel from Kravitz yesterday. Really, unrealistic expectations? At INDIANA? My first thought was, well how in the hell has Wiscy seemingly done it year-after-year with no top 5 classes....and I was too lazy to actually look up the stats to see just how many straight years they've been in the top 3 or 4. But to say it's unrealistic for IU basketball to get to that point, that was just too much for me. As I tell my own 7th grade students, NEVER accept mediocrity.
  12. I'd take him over Marshall or Alford any day. However, why would he jump ship in the conference? I know it's Indiana but still, that seems like a slimy move and I don;t see a guy of CC caliber and integrity doing so. Also, I firmly believe if he were to somehow end up here and have success, he'd be gone in a heartbeat when Coach K retires. So, no thanks. Let's get a guy that will be here for the long haul.
  13. It was certainly time for a change. Having said that, Tom Crean will always have a special spot in Indiana Basketball history for what he did. He took the dumpster fire (to put it mildly) that was IU basketball and produced two big 10 Championships, a #1 seed, and made Indiana relevant again. Not many people in his position would have left the situation he left to take on such a challenge. But as he stated, "It's Indiana". So, thanks to CTC for doing what not many wanted to do, or would have been able to do. Hope the next coach sees this opportunity as a no brainer and makes the move because, "It's Indiana".
