  1. Just for a second, imagine your dog dying. Why on EARTH would you want to put such a terrible thought in a bunch of message boarders' heads? Troll level: 500 Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  2. Agreed. Glass isn't arrogant enough to say, "you want to coach the rest of your season? No, commit now or the door is closed and we keep our search open." Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  3. He can leave the Ball kids and their big mouthed dad in California. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  4. Gotta consider an IU guy. Hopefully it's just a consideration and a talk out of respect. If an "IU guy" wasn't considered, some of the fan base would never stop whining about it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  5. Duh, didn't you know you're never allowed to change your stance on things? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  6. I'm aware, I was just saying that we've never had the pick of the litter since Knight was fired. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  7. When? After Knight, we've had 3 non pick of the litters. Historically great program, poor administrations the last 15 years. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  8. We got guys at airports scouting...I guess it's not far off to believe someone can hack an email address or plant a small wire tap on the administration. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  9. It didn't work in The Departed. That means it can't work in real life. [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  10. It's amusing to me that people are getting down over an anonymous "insider" giving details about a closed door meeting that may or may not have happened. Between anonymous "friends of the program" or members of IU's staff. If the meeting DID happen and Billy DID commit, why in the H.E.L.L would it be announced before either coaches season has ended. You guys are acting like this dude is Edward Snowden or Julien Assange. Has he been right before? Sure! Has he been wrong before? Sure! Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Give me a break guys. We are all smarter than this! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  11. You're not far off. This stems from the gear from the AAU circuit. Coaches of teams sponsored by Nike in AAU are more inclined to push their guys towards Nike schools in order to keep the money rolling in. Netflix has a good documentary called, "At All Costs" about the AAU world and how it plays into college basketball. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  12. Can someone please explain how Steve Alford would lock down in-state recruiting? I'm flabbergasted by this statement every time I see it. High school kids don't know him or what he did as a player. They will see he's coached for 25+ years and see he's only been to 3 Sweet 16's. Great players don't always make great coaches and recruiters. Can someone who supports the "Alford would lock down Indiana" help me understand where you're coming from? 13. A-freakin-men brother! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  14. Maybe the Alford contact is just to keep the "we considered an IU guy" out there. I doubt that our in-state recruiting would be great if he was here. He's been coaching since 91 and has only been to 3 Sweet 16s. High school kids have no idea who he is and even their parents might not know. He played in the 80s. Let's not forget that was 30 years ago! Lol Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  15. Mark Few? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  16. I guess I'm old school IU because I love it! This reminds me of Coach Knight, if he ever didn't wear a sweater and khakis. More coaches should have that kind of fire instead of letting bad officiating happen. Officials hide behind the whistle too easily these days. No one holds them accountable. Good for coach Marshall. 17. Sleeping on a guy whose success is coming on one of the worst B1G seasons in the last decade? Let the guy go to the post season and make some noise before he's even acknowledged by anyone. Extremely hard pass. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  18. Nothing this team or staff has done this year would make me believe we will go on a run of any kind. Fans wouldn't show up at home games if we were the high seed and we SUCK on the road and at neutral sites. Take off your candy stripe tin foil hat and see the beauty of what's about to happen to our program!
  19. I heard John Mellencamp was a big fan too... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  20. My vote is for someone who has not been mentioned in the whole conversation. We will all be baffled by the pick like we were with Crean. My dreamer side says Billy or Archie. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  21. I think we are both saying that the sky is blue. I'm saying without the Mcdonalds kids from the state, we would have been average at best because that's his ceiling. Average. The only guys he "developed" was Vic and MAYBE Troy. No one else that wasn't a McD kid has made it to the next level. And let's be honest, Rob Johnson is not playing as well as we all hoped when he came in, so that's not your best example. His flashes of great are far and few between. 22. The problem with that is that if he does go to an average school that accepts his mediocre skills, he won't be able to recruit the McDonalds All Americans. Half (or almost half) of the ones he has recruited have come from the state of Indiana. Once he's not with us anymore, that well dries up and he fades away. The name on the jersey recruited a lot of our big time players, not Crean. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  23. He's the John Gotti of ADs. He's Teflon Tom. Nothing and I mean NOTHING sticks to him or his programs. Mainly because he won't hold them accountable. Drugs, DUIs, hookers, gun shots, extortion scandals etc. Could you imagine hookers (edit: any of those problems above) at IU? Self imposed sanctions would be automatic, unless we were winning. Winning solves everything if you're Tom Jurich. Going to UofL and living in Louisville for 12 years, I've grown to not have much respect for him or the University. 24. Check out The General's book, "The Power of Negative Thinking." It is the complete opposite of how Crean goes about being a leader/coach/mentor. Knight and day difference. "I once told a kid to stop doing the sign of the church before every free throw. Not because I was offended, but because he was so bad it probably offended the church." 25. I thought Jack Daniels already had a home there? Isn't it the biggest market growth the last 9 years? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
