Unfortunately, Lunardi isn't consistently very good as bracket-predicting goes. Seems like a toss-up whether they'll make the tournament.

Looks like RTZ is partying hard...

https://www.betonline.ag/sportsbook/futures-and-props/ncaam-specials/coaches A follow-up from the earlier coaching odds; the entire page appears to be down. Looks like the board blew the whole thing up!

The most absolutely maddening thing has been going through this season remembering that IU beat Tennessee in that Exhibition. For all the grousing about roster fit, that game showed that this team had the talent to play with anyone. It's been a question of consistency. Not totally connected, but I'm inclined to think that there are 20 coaches or more who could have gotten more out of this team this year.

Trilly talking about Wade wanting a shot at the IU job and not getting a look makes me think it's someone like Stevens, Donovan, Self, Few or Lloyd. Aim high!

Here's a fun question for @Chris007. Plugged the current odds into an AI model, and asked it to but together a betting framework that would be a good mix of safe and with a good payout. Here's what it gave me. Final Recommendation Place $50 on Brad Brownell (-200), $20 on Ben McCollum (+200), $15 on Greg McDermott (+500), and $15 on Dusty May (+1000). This strategy balances the safety of a favorite with the lucrative potential of underdogs, minimizing risk (max loss $100, often less) while maximizing outcome (up to $65 profit). If you have insights suggesting a specific underdog is undervalued, adjust accordingly—but based solely on these odds, this spread optimizes the dual goals. Do you take those candidates or the field?

Billy D has emerged at +4000; another value buy?

That's big; shows how desirable this job is... Texas is one of the richest departments, in a high population state where people care more about football. Objectively, there's a lot that should make it a top job. But it's Indiana...

Looks like a number of folks on the board had the same idea, and collectively moved the line down. Makes me laugh to picture the Vegas bookies watching bets stream in immediately on Stevens just because of this board... Update: the choice has now been locked after less than an hour as an option. BTB just freaked Vegas out.

When we landed on the moon... when they shot JFK... when the Challenger exploded... when IU hired Brad Stevens...

So actually, we need the gif of the image above made, with Dolson's head on Gandalf's body, and Stevens' head on Eomer's. The caption... Dolson: 'Hoosier Nation stands alone.' Stevens: 'Not alone.' @hper50 and I have already talked this out.

Eh, Florida does have the 40th and 47th ranked prospects according to NBA.com's big board. Maybe he's scouting them...?

The fan base would have gone nuts if a decision had not yet been made on Woodson...

I can't imagine that IU would hold off hiring a coach for the sake of giving the team a chance to make a run in The Crown...

Brownell with locked odds... not what you want to see.

I'm wondering: why does McDermott have such good odds in the IU Coach Betting Market? Is he due for a contract extension too? With Brownell, he seems like one of the last ones who can leverage this coaching search for a raise/extension.

Imagine how awful it would have been to watch this year's IU team play a McCollum Iowa team. The talent gap would have been maddening, especially considering how badly they would carve us up. Come to think of it, it reminds me of how IU played Iowa with Fran...

He's going to have them hard to beat. Obviously an excellent coach.

Time for Devries to get a raise, and McCollum to be hired on a more competitive contract; Goodman to the rescue!

I think if Bozich is right, it's because lots of people don't know enough about Brownell. The die-hard fans, who actually know his resume? I think the number would be higher than 75%.
