Todd Leary claims to be a friend of Dusty's and he thinks Dusty wants to come back to IU.

Does anyone know how much Brad really does make? I've heard so many different numbers. Brad is also very religious, not in a over the top way.

Kansas fans are getting sick of Self. They're talking Pearl or McCollum, lol. NIL is the great equalizer. The blue bloods aren't going to like the more even playing field now. Personally for me, I think there are 2 coaches that I believe could win the championship above everyone else. Pitino and Pearl are what I would call a sure thing. Self is getting tired or bored at Kansas, or I would put him in that group too. I'd still prefer a younger up and coming guy.

I don't think using the example of UK having to settle for a lesser known coach is comparable to how much difficulty IU will have finding a top coach. To me, I just think most coaches did not want the UK job because following Calipari and being expected to be better than Cal was very daunting and not worth dealing with the UK fanbase. Cal set the standards of winning so high, even with his lack of tournament success in the last few years. Louisville didn't have a Cal, and they did a good job of finding a good coach. IU had Woodson and Archie. No coach is going to be intimidated coming to IU. Can you imagine? I think we'll do great in getting our guy. The bar is so low now, I mean, how can we miss this time?

Heck yea he could coach that long! And after he tires of that he can run for President of the USA. Only commenting on the age thing, not a political post!

I haven't given any thought to him. However, I must have dreamed about him after watching Wisconsin beat Purdue.

I had a dream we hired Greg Gard. In my dream, Gard was so happy he cried. He said I can finally get some great players that won't leave me...lol Very weird dream.

Iowa also wants Matt Gatens and they are getting worried that some other BIG team (Indiana Minnesota??) will find out what a brilliant coach he is and steal him away. I think if Fran does go, they should get Shrews, and keep with the crazy. Watching Frantrum was the high light of Big Ten basketball during the Woodson years. At least for me.

It's interesting to follow Iowa right now. They sound a bit like us. They are mad that they waited a year to fire Fran, when they could have gotten DeVries last year. If they do fire Fran this year, not sure about that. It sounds like a IU Dusty thing. They don't seem thrilled about McCollum, too slow, too much like Lickliter, thinking they should try to get Chris Collins too. If Fran does get fired, I wouldn't be surprised to see him somewhere in Indiana with his 3 boys and Caitlyn Clark in Indy. They are also interested in Pearl. Fun to watch them for a diversion.

Why not? It would take Woody and his staff a few weeks to learn about it. They aren't very sharp.

John is in California, his daughter had surgery for brain tumors yesterday. He probably won't meet with Dolson this week.

No, I don't think Scott would have a problem hiring Dusty. If he hires him, I think he believes Dusty is the best man for the job. Dusty knows the risks, I think if he got fired, he would understand why. He is the anti-Woodson, thank goodness.

Dusty grew up hating UK and UL. Could be a reason why he wouldn't want to coach at either of those places. Michigan and Indiana's rivalry isn't that big of a deal. Michigan hates Ohio State and MSU, so the Wolverines were a good choice if he plans to leave them one day and return to. Indiana.

That's why I'm here, to talk about the coaching change. BTW, I didn't know who the mods were on this site. I don't pay that much attention to who is posting. I did think Scotty R was a mod because he seemed unhappy with some of us. No offense Scotty, I just thought you were trying to keep us in line. The banter here is top notch, and I've learned so much too.

Of course Knight's comment was wrong. I think he said it because he thought it was funny He was from the generation that thought people would know he wasn't advocating sexual assault, but making a stupid joke. Looking back from modern times, I understand the outrage with what he said. But I still dislike Connie Chung, I just had to throw that in there.

I went to a charity golf tournament and the booze was flowing. I'm not sure there are any sober coaches or the people that hang with them around. The country club set loves their cocktails. If I favor a coach, I don't care what other fans and media say, and I don't worry if we will be a laughing stock. Honestly, we can't fall much further in being a joke to others at this point. Saying that we can't do this or that because of the optics is not great, isn't something I worry about. There aren't many schools or coaches that can pass the squeaky clean test. Oh and last point, MIck Cronin may be an a$$, but yelling at his team or throwing them under the bus, is the last thing that team is worried about. My 7th grade coach called us "little M fers" everyday. Not a big deal when your coach goes off on you.

So, is it okay to announce our new coach before Woodson's last day? I have no idea how that works when someone retires. Maybe the plane is carrying a Brad assistant, so might not know who the passenger could be.

I don't think he'll stay with the team after announcing his "retirement". He's afraid of his players, the handshake line and Fish. I don't think he'll survive the humiliation of us knowing he really got canned.

I did a little snooping on Facebook and noticed one of Woodson's crew has a family member that sounds a bit discouraged about Woody's abilities....lol.

Sleepers Media is laughing so hard about Woodson's post Wisconsin comments, "we came with good intentions." I can't even be mad anymore, they are right, the comedy of our basketball program is entertaining, but I'm ready to stop laughing.

Do you think Stevens would be okay with that? I'm not sure he would agree to that, if he's the one.

I agree, the "we want Dusty" chants would probably make Dusty cringe. Not a good look. He's fully invested in his team right now, and showing up Woodson isn't a good look. I also doubt any coach, no matter who he will be, wants his name announced as our new coach while Woodson is still here if a retirement is announced.

Brad coaching at IU isn't any stranger than Belicheck coaching football at NC. Actually I think Brad's deal makes more sense. What's the big pull for Bill at NC besides the money?
