  1. Apologies- meant "high level D1 program"
  2. So you feel better now? To add context to an opinion-his dad announced a week ago and apparently that didn't line up with his desire to control the information. Also, a 21 year old playing at a high level school should comprehend and/or be aware of what he actually is as a player. Nothing stood out about his game and said this is pro material. Basing this off of the last 3 years. Perhaps this lack of awareness is what contributed to such poor results? But let's keep coddling the baby's- I am sure that works at some level.
  3. Any kid this indifferent on his own perception is lacking guidance. Don't want nor need at IU.
  4. Not one bit worried about a player who feels he is ready yet wasn't ready to lead. Be 6'10", pretend you belong on the premier. 100% sure IU brings toughness next year - not a perceived vision concocted by a soft coach and softer player
  5. Reach locally and nationally- staff has relationships in both areas. This years class minus Moore as he hasn't made up his mind, 4 players declaring "They had their mind made up prior to my hire so our responsibility is to gather info". First class since 2010 with no Top 50 players, importance of stringing back to back strong classes. ESPN crew said Indiana has had 7 top 100 players in last few years and none have chosen IU
  6. Has there been an official release on the staff? Arch was on espnu and spoke of each so no surprises but cannot recall IU making an official press release
  7. At what point are players accountable for results? I find it hard to believe the pass they are given. Coaches coach, players execute or they don't and then we blame the coaching staff?
  8. In fairness- you have to start with a clean slate as a leader in a new position. The decisions come as identified in your interview process. Probably expedited in this case due to so many moving parts. As opposed to "creaning"-I like the word "fit"
  9. Nonsense- bloviating nonsense. Better understand how to deal with millenials because they aren't going away. It's not about the Indiana way it's about them.

    Welcome Coach Miller

Yes and no in regards to a coach potentially leaving. Some have more inclination than others- Donavan appears to be indecisive in that regard. Resources can mean facilities that come from donors. It can mean availability and not only on court but off court, it can mean mentoring kids, it can mean opportunities post graduation. While all might equate to a dollar figure they aren't always tangible in that regard. Lastly, as stated and as most perceived that to mean it wasn't going to be about money- if you can get a coach for 3.25 as opposed to 8-all things being equal- you take the 3.25 all day. We weren't in the room, don't know the conversations nor the sincere candidates- so we cannot speculate what money was and was not available.

Not every model starts with top of pay scale. Mitigating risk plays a part and if the risk pays off, you have room to move Archie into the next tier of pay grades and if it's a home run, he gets the elite pay. Even if it was Donavan, the risk was always- does he leave for the next shiny opportunity. Risk can come in many shapes and sizes and resources don't always correlate to $$$
  12. It mostly stems from the tangible results or lack there of- when he was out 2 years ago, team played better. 2 years of in court participation...not so much. He is responsible for the seed being planted in some fans eyes.
  13. Replace wholly for mostly- scratch the rest. Team was mostly ineffective due to selfishness and/or lack of leadership. Kids want and need to be led- they were not and therefore, went in individual directions that were not good for the "team". It's on tape and irrefutable.
  14. Trimble announced and is signing with agent
  15. I wouldn't under estimate this rosters attachment to Crean. However, Miller probably won over most of the room. Those that leave would have done so with or without Crean. OG, JBJ, Bryant? Johnson?

Can't wait to see CAM get his feet wet and show his chops. Recruiting at a high level as an assistant ant- little doubt he knows what it takes. X's and O's - check. Most importantly- he is accountable and doesn't believe in injuries or excuses. He owns his ****!!!

I wouldn't call it excitement necessarily. After some of the names we thought were available, somewhat of a let down. Hires are fluid and no one has all of the facts at their disposal. There is some projection involved with any hire, some if he had this at his disposal, this is what our vision is. Deserves an opportunity to succeed as opposed to a splintered fan base working against him.
