In fairness to him. The committee used an injury that happened in November as a reason to keep them out. They got absolutely screwed by the committee to put in UNC. They should have absolutely made it.

I think we have a better chance at landing Stevens or Donovan (very low) than we do Jay Wright. I don't see anyway that is at all factual.

Ehh, if he was alone, maybe. But other people with credible sources have heard the same. We'll see. It's certainly possible it's not done, but a lot smoke either way.

Well, we should know fairly quickly then if the guy we got is still coaching or not. No announcement in the next couple days (or tomorrow probably) and our guy is coaching in the tournament. Here's to hoping for good news tomorrow.

To be fair, he just threw out some big names. He said "I don't want to say Brad Stevens, but somebody like that". I think he just threw out a couple random names as examples of bigger names than guys like Brownell or McCollum.

No idea. He doesn't talk a ton about Indiana because he doesn't have any great IU sources.

He said it could be somebody big if not DeVries. He admitted he doesnt know anything and its been very tight lipped. But I've listened to his show every night for the past week, and it's the first time he has ever said something like that about the Indiana opening as far as I can remember.

Could we potentially be doing our next coach (McDermott) a solid by getting one of his assistants a little pay bump? Just a tinfoil hat theory to throw out on page 2504 of this thread.

But if IU isn't actually going to hire him, it doesn't matter. He can probably get a few more dollars and still get the job he wanted in the end.

The difference is Iowa is feeling the same amount of smoke about DeVries as well.
