I felt like the commentators gave IU a lot of love tonight.....liked our offense---liked our guards----praised Hanner and Holt------had Yogi fever----loved Troy's athleticism---actually complimented our defense ----etc.   That has to help our recruiting----hope Bryant was tuned in!

I hope he was paying attention. Bryant had to enjoy seeing all that space Hanner and Holt had to roam around in tonight!

Whatever happens this season ---I just hope we finally have some upperclassmen again soon. In general---we have always done better with veteran teams whether you want to look at wins and losses or leadership or maturity (fewer off the court problems).   Our youth and inexperience definitely shows....

  Go get him Olivia----start the trash talk early and get inside his head!   Throw his game---way off!

So--what is Calipari's new sales pitch to Bryant and others?   Maybe Calipari says "Gentlemen---come to UK where you have never had to work hard on academics and now we have sweetened the deal where you don't even have to work hard on basketball anymore to get drafted by the NBA---I can turn you into a millionaire and all you have to do is work 17 minutes a game and average 7 or 8 points and rebound or block a shot when you feel like it."   It's ridiculous when you think about it----and the NBA will be drafting on potential because they are not going to see substantial minutes or great stats.  I know these are 5 stars but some may be able to sneak into the NBA with very little productivity and without actually proving they are ready.   Of course--what does Calipari care---he will just replace them more 5 stars the next year!   Nice little system he has going.  Sickens me.

Yep---Remy not burning the world up yet this year either.   IMO---RoJo is playing better right now.

Glad Noah is back at it---see he still knows a thing or 2 about rebounding!  :ninja:   Missing those boards this year at IU!

We just need Bryant to restart the momentum and commit to IU---and we would all be feeling better about next year.

But I do agree with the original premise of Candystriped---the recruits we have are actually having bigger impacts NOW then some that we missed on.  We can agree on that can't we?

  That's what it tells you now.  Let's check in 2 or 3 years down the road and see how they are doing after they get some experience and a chance to develop.  That's where I think we fall short---not enough upperclassmen with experience.  Maybe---just Maybe Crean and Izzo and all the other coaches that evaluated them did get it right--we shall see.   

  Too funny ou812dude---I literally laughed out loud at the thought of the UK players actually doing math.   Maybe an opposing team could rattle them by daring them to count backwards!   Or-ask Lyles if that zero he scored tonight would have been as much as he would have scored at IU?   Maybe ask just how many people are actually in a platoon?   I could see them go running to Coach Cal ----pleading and griping---"But you said we would never have to do math if we came to UK" !   I think they call that the Bledsoe Rule!  :P  

Saw the UK boxscore----shot 45% for game--28% from 3----and 47%  from free throw line---but they win by 20 because they rebound.   Beatable with an extremely HOT shooting team----and I don't care who it is---I hope someone beats them!

  Still too early to tell---but that EWU loss MAY end up not being that bad of a loss.   They are a good team.

  How about trade them 3's for their 2's?  :biggrin:
