  1. Mostly a pre-season story on McNeil's high school team but includes a couple of comments on McNeil. https://www.richmondobserver.com/sports/item/14199-season-preview-talented-raiders-shooting-for-conference-state-titles.html
  2. Quite a milestone for Jordan playing in the German basketball league.
  3. Bettina Newton @Simplydivine_17 Got to meet a member of our new IU family @KentDavis14 who came out to support @jakai_newton at his game last night! Man, IU fans are THE BESTTTT! Thank you Kent! P.S that beautiful lady in the red IU sweatshirt is Jakai's proud Nana (my mom) @KarenMizell1! Everybody say hello!
  4. On The Radar Hoops -- Kaleb Banks | 6-8 | SF | Fayette County | 2022 (Signed with Indiana) How about the Hoosiers establishing a beachhead in ATL grabbing Banks and Newton from this list alone. This long-strider at 6-8 can really break you down off the bounce and seems to glide by folks with an ease that obviously will translate well to the Big Ten. Polished scoring and defense that can cover you inside and out, he’ll once again be the catalyst for an FCHS club that has designs on getting back to the 4A Finals for another shot at the title.
  5. On The Radar Hoops -- Jakai Newton | 6-4 | SG | Newton | 2023 (signed with Indiana) Stamped his own place as a major player to watch despite the tremendous talent around him in Covington, and it was easy to see why during the summer as he was nearly unguardable at times. Has that great gift of swift pace to explode by you yet has such a high IQ as a scorer he can back it off and pick you apart with his multi-level scoring talent. Physical and fleet-afoot as a defender, he will be tremendous over his last 2 seasons with the Rams and a big-time contributor in the Big Ten with the Hoosiers.
  6. #iubb is an 11.5-point favorite vs. Louisiana, o/u 139.5. Pomeroy puts it at 15 & gives the Hoosiers a 91% chance of victory.
  7. The Ragin' Cajuns are 3-0 having beaten West Florida, Southern Mississippi and Xavier (LA). They were beaten by Alabama 73-68 in a charity exhibition. They're shooting 43% from the field; 37% on 3s averaging 26 attempts/game. They've held their opponents to 35% and 25% respectively. They hold an 8 reb/game advantage. Live Stats
  8. The winds of change are blowing. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-football-tom-allens-remarks-seemed-like-pretty-clear-frustration-with-oc-nick-sheridan/?fbclid=IwAR37UOrwuq0oeUH0Ep-g-TK4sT7ALFxNsBrCUDCE1O6brxB-ceiOktvobhw
  9. Good story on TJD's improved rebounding and blocked shot stats. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-jackson-davis-has-hurried-up-his-giddyup-to-higher-rebound-and-shot-block-totals/?fbclid=IwAR2LmdUZty8N6vvSHa9IAz1mQ8_-2EbpPRwl-xXSTlvnCuIA_xd-S1hf90k
  10. After leading by 20 at the half, Norcross scored the first 7 pts. of the second half but could never get any closer. Newton wins 83-67. 'Tis the season for my officially unofficial scorecards. I had Jakai with 16 pts. on 6-16 FG; 2-6 on 3s; 2-3 FT; 7 reb; 5 asst; 3 stl; 2 TO; 2 blk. Georgia uses a 35 second shot clock. I thought the game was much more physical than a typical Indiana high school game and Jakai doesn't shy away from contact so the B1G shouldn't be a big change for him. The Rams also plays a very up tempo game and fast breaked at every opportunity. To me he seemed extremely quick with good reaction time and good handles.
  11. Unofficial reports on Trent Sisley from a scrimmage between Heritage Hills and New Albany. 23 pts. on 11-19 FG; 1-5 on 3s
  12. In response to a tweet from Chronic Hoosier Derek Elston @Dsol32 Nothing to be sad about .. football is just a filler before IUBB starts !!!
  13. #OTRHoopsTipOffClassic: 15 Pts 15 Rebs 4 AST 3Blocks
  14. Had to check out at halftime and greatly relieved to see we pulled it out. Mackenzie with a poor stat line for her and wonder if she was pressing too much playing "at home". Hopefully a wake-up call that they're not invincible. Now off to the Bahamas for a Thanksgiving Day game against Stanford and a Saturday night game against Miami (FL). Have to be a lot more focused than we were today but as @Woodson1980 said "a win's a win".
  15. Quinnipiac with a 33-27 halftime lead and we need to wake up. Berger with a half court shot to make it that close.
  16. Good grief. We don't look at all like the #4 team in the country. Midway thru the 2nd Q and we trail 27-16. 7 TOs; getting outrebounded;
  17. End of the 1st Q and Quinnipiac with a 16-10 lead. Neither team looks sharp.
  18. A considerably less than stellar start for the women today. Midway thru the 1st Q and Quinnipiac leading 12-4. Not looking sharp at all. We already have picked up 5 fouls; 2 of them on Cardano-Hillary.
  19. Scott transferred from Riverwood HS in Sandy Springs, GA to Mount Vernon School in Atlanta for this season. Dr. Kris Watkins @DrKrisWatkins #OTRHoopsTipOffClassic: 2024 Dennis Scott III had a big 1st half for @MV_MOV finishing with 10 pts. Has great footwork/patience when he catches it in the paint. Standing at 6'9 he is a mismatch problem can put ball on floor from perimeter and soft touch on drives.
  20. No, we stopped several weeks ago.
  21. For you Freddie fans here's a 9 min. clip of his past season highlights.
