Some updates from Big Ten media day in Chicago: Georgia Tech LB transfer TD Roof will be eligible to play this season (big news for a position in need). IU will honor coach Mallory by wearing a helmet decal each week. QB competition is open and no starter has been named. Fatigue and depth were issues in finishing games last season. Team trying to address that with better conditioning and building depth.

I saw Matthew Weaver posting on twitter about a possible addition to the coaching staff? Anyone hear/know anything about it?

Coach Allen and Co. are on fire in terms of recruiting, adding their 7th commit in the last five days! This one from 3-star Florida linebacker Dorian Jones.

It appears that we got another commitment; this time from Ohio long snapper Sean Wracher. He is ranked as the 2nd best long snapper in the 2019 class (according to 247 sports) and held offers from Pittsburgh and Toledo.

Held over 20 offers including Duke, purdue, Mississippi State, and Memphis.

I think he graduated early and was attending some community college in Arizona. Either way, he adds even more depth to an already talented RB group. We now have Ellison, Gest, Walker, and Pechac (plus a few others) on the roster.

According to the Herald Times' Mike Miller (@MikeMillerHT), former RB commit Kristian Pechac has joined the program as a walk-on. He was a very talented RB in high school with plenty of scholarship options. Let's hope he is willing to put in the work and sticks around this time!

According to Stu Jackson (@StuJTH), Kirtz did take an official visit over the weekend and will be announcing his commitment by next Monday (June 4th). Northwestern was believed to be the leader here and he took a visit to Evanston earlier in the month as well. But after this weekend, maybe things changed? one can hope!

Another positive for us is that our QB roster is less crowded. As of now, we will likely have Ramsey and Penix fighting for the starting job after the 2018 season. Purdue will likely have (at least on scholarship): Senior- Elijah Sindelar RS So- Griffin Alstott Rs So- Nick Sipe Rs Fr- Jack Plummer Northwestern will probably have the starting job open after Clayton Thorson graduates this year (he also tore his ACL at the end of last season so he may not be back in 2018). As far I as can tell, after the 2018 season they will have on their roster: RS Fr- Jason Whittaker RS So- Andrew Marty RS Jr- Aidan Smith Sr- TJ Green

UNC offered last month and Penn St. just offered too...so we'll see if we can keep him committed to IU.
