Is this the tournament for mid-majors? I believe the University of Evansville Aces won this in 2015.

2019 NIT Tournament
hoosierdogg replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'm with you Jaybob a true Hoosier fan that will back my team no matter what. A disappointing season no doubt, due some self-inflicted factors, and some not. But this is where there they are. Plenty of motivating factors here - JMo can continue his rise up the Hoosier history books in scoring, rebounding, and blocks - potentially could be top 25-10-10 in those three categories (feed the big fella). Green should come in confident after the OSU game, and motivated with three more home wins, a chance to play in New York. Perhaps Fitzner will break out of the pressure cooker of B!G basketball and display the shooting prowess he was touted to have. McRoberts, if healthy, can play his disruptive defensive game on unsuspecting opponents. Romeo should be able to take over at will in this first game and subsequent games. DeRon shouldn't be matched up against 300 pound behemoths in the paint. Smith, if he is patient and lets the game come to him, could be a matchup problem in this first game. I would imagine Rob and Al would match up with any guards in theses first few games. I am looking forward to watching the game tomorrow, and hopefully making a trip to AH for a second game. Come on HN, now that the disappointment of not making the NCAA has come (and gone) lets get behind the team all the way to MSG. -
Hoosiers currently a 19.5 point favorite in this game. UCLA beat this team by 37 in November. St. Francis shows 18 wins, but two were against DII and DIII teams, so only 16 wins against DI opponents, most from the Northeast conference. Yea, had to look all that up. This should be an easy win, if the Hoosiers really want it.

2019 NIT Tournament

Well, three wins in Assembly Hall over the next week gets Archie to 20 wins in his second season and a trip to MSG. Still stings a bit, but it is something. Trying to stay positive. -

40 years ago (1979), Hoosiers won the post-season NIT. The team Indiana beat for that championship - Purdue! Two years later, Hoosiers are NCAA champions! Deja Vu? -

Well, based on Green's 35 foot 3-pointer at the end of the O$U game, the increased distance will not deter him. Might need a couple of bean counters to keep track of the team fouls. -
Agree, not a flagrant foul. Ward grabbed the rebound, was not swinging elbows, Woods sticks his face where it doesn't belong. Now the obvious hook on hold against Morgan yesterday was not called, and there was all kinds of video evidence to review of that obvious foul, and it was not called.

A positive spin to the outcome today, if it can be considered as such, is a NIT bid as 1 seed, or other high seed, would mean potentially one or more games for the Hoosiers in Assembly Hall, and an opportunity for Morgan to add to his career stats and move up the lists. Big question however, is will this team be engaged and up to the task.

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

Is that an Adidas duffle bag? -
Sort of like holding in football...can call it on most any play, but just whenever the refs choose to do so.
-
Are the students on break that first week of the NIT?
-
If Smith can get his head in the game, Fitzner should not play.
-
IU should decline to participate in the BTT...same sh!t every year. 30 shots, 15 from three? C'mon, playing right into what O$U wants. Poor 3 point shooting team should not shoot half from beyond the arc. Archie needs some adjustments, both on the court and in the players heads. Green's 3 made 3's offset by 3 turnovers and other questionable shot attempts. Romeo a non-factor, and Smith - woof. Need to get this fixed quickly out of the break, or plan on a first round NIT game.
-
BS, that has been a hook and hold all year.

Best offense set of the game there. Strong finish by Al.
