Thanks, hadn't heard any of this. Fully anticipating some serious roster turnover, either through pro ball and/or portal, that I didn't see Woodson having the legs to try and fill the roster at his age. He's talking some big aspirations of what he'd like to achieve as well, that I just don't see it. Either he or the next coach is going to have some serious work to do to fill out a competent roster for next season. Don't envy he or whoever the coach is next season - sadly we posters and fans may have to suffer through an even worse year. Long way to go, but I haven't seen Woodson's ability to land 9+ players on the recruiting and portal like a Beard did at Ole Miss, which from what I see on the court in 2023-24, is going to be required to achieve the conference and national championships that he is talking about. Will continue to watch and hope for better days, but it sucks being a IU basketball fan at the moment

This just a hunch or any reasoning behind thinking he would get out of dodge earlier than expected?

How about some guards take advantage of some slower guards from Purdue instead of expecting TJD, I mean Ware, to carry you against a 7’3” All-American? Just irks me, Edey is a problem, but take advantage of Smith and Loyer. Woodson’s priorities seem so out of sync for today’s cbb -

Going well? Couldn't watch the first half as too many devices were connected at once to my sister's Peacock? 51-29, might not watch much myself this half -
I was already assuming both he and Ware were bound for professional basketball regardless. Walker will be done and I wouldn't be surprised by some portal turnover on IU's own roster so just assume the guard and wing positions will look incredibly different next season with Liam the only known addition. Wasn't aware of the backstory of landing Mgbako, just was more alluding to Woodson being able to land 6+ new impact players through portal and recruiting

Not going to go as far as say "cooked", but this is my fear as well. He had an open scholarship and got JHS to the league and couldn't convince any portal guard to help a Big10 program with a bunch of NIL money this offseason? He's going to have more spots to fill at guard and wing next season, I've not seen much ability to land talent in volume that, imo, is going to be required to overhaul this roster to achieve the heights he's talking about - conference and national championships He's done well landing some bigger fish during the offseason coaching carousel - Malik and MM - but he needs a lot of help from where I sit

Likely overthinking it, but with how Woodson has added late each class, there's not a lot of cohesion it feels. With this incoming class, it feels like Woodson, or whoever is coaching next season, will have to scramble to assemble a complete roster. Ware is the shot blocking and offensive replacement for TJD. Mbako provides some of that shooting, but watching those two with Malik together defensively requires a lot of squinting for it to look any good. Then you add the guard issues and lack of bench options and this team has some serious issues. Tonight should have been winnable. IU should have been able to take advantage inside with Reneau and Ware to scrape a win
