  1. I’m not a tool, I call it how I see it. This is a bad process and very questionable hire.
  2. This feels like a horrible process. If he only set his eyes on only these two options that to me means that he was rather close minded. I know it was Woodson’s dream job but it doesn’t one should get it. I’m just not liking this. It screams of an amateur run administration.
  3. Not really. Not feeling the need after this hire.
  4. Will this make or break Dolson’s career at IU?
  5. I’ve seen the Arizona and Texas A&M game three times. Arizona has the same gritty defense as we do, but I think we might have a slight edge in athleticism and our center is crafty enough to make more noise. We’ll definitely have a fair shot at it.
  6. Every team has those “ I know it all kids” these kids can help you or really destroy the chemistry of the team.
  7. Ok being a huge Knicks fan I’m trying to be fair as I possibly can. Pros- 1) Nice guy 2) knows his Xs and Os and anyone who decides to come in will walk away better. 3) If all current (freshman) stay we will make a run in the tournament by the time they’re seniors. Specifically Lander who can become an elite point guard under him. 4) An IU guy (personally I don’t care but maybe it can help?) 5) Tries to hold everyone accountable. 6) understands the need to hire great assistants. Frankly because he had to deal with incompetent NBA front offices. Cons- 1) I don’t know if has the energy to recruit. Specifically elite recruits. I know people say his staff will do a lot of leg work but Head Coaches in elite schools (maybe we’re not anymore) do they’re fair share as well. This is my observations being close to seeing Coach K and Roy work at times. 2) His age. I could have accepted this more if we hired him instead of coach Crean. Now, I don’t how much longer he can coach. 3) He can be pushed around. A lot of the Knick players liked him a lot, but it was posted many a time that when the best players pushed back he always backed off. I hope that if a player calls him out at IU he can keep the ship together. 4) Has to learn how the college game works. Not an easy transition. I hope I’m being fair. I’ll root for the guy. I’m just not going to watch until we’re winning consistently. My blood pressure can’t take it. He was ninth on my list. For the sake of the program I hope it works out.
  8. God I’m going out to to get some Vodka. Calm my nerves.
  9. In another point to be fair to Woodson to show I’m not just trying to be a hater. If Lander stays in IU, Woodson can mold him to be a stud point guard.
  10. I will also say this to be fair. I’m so happy for him. He genuinely loves IU. He’s a nice guy who was never given a fair shake in the NBA.
  11. How many years do you guys think that Mike Woodson has in him?
  12. Disagree anyone who watched IU football saw the talent had when he was the defensive coordinator under Wilsons tenure. I felt it was a great hire because of that defense, had the energy, and knew our college program.
  13. This a basketball board, I’m not going on twitter or anything. I think it’s OK to show discontent .
  14. This is true. I have no doubt about the man’s ability to coach the technical aspect to these players. I have major doubts about his ability to bring in the athletes to come in and compete (not win ) for a national championship.
  15. This is very sad if true. I’m in the belief that with the right hire anything can change. This one leaves me in doubt. I hope it works out because I love IU but there are just so many questions on the table.
  16. Whatever makes you look cool buddy. Anyone who knows me here that I chatter about all IU sports. I rooted for the women’s basketball and football team before it was cool.
  17. I will say this. I do like Thad Matta as associate AD. That is a smart hire. And it’s nothing against Coach Woodson, time and time again I defended him in a Knicks blog, it’s just think we could have done a lot better.
  18. I’m not watching. I’ll look at the box score, but that’s pretty much it. Going to watch IU basketball used to be fun, but all of you feel it. There’s just something wrong with the program. Yeah he might succeed but why are we always settling and get gaming chances ?
  19. I donate to the university. Primarily to the arts programs if we’re being honest.
  20. Don’t lump in buddy to make yourself feel superior. I said I would root for the program. I’m loyal, I donate $5,000 each year to the program. But this is garbage and all of you know we should expect better.
  21. Plus I would take out women’s coach in a heart beat over this garbage. They actually know how to teach defense.
  22. I would rather have a stupid dart and aim it at a list of other candidates...... I think this gives us better odds than this garbage.
  23. We are such an embarssement. I’m so glad that the previous athletic director hired other great coaches. We’re obviously dealing with someone who can’t objectively evaluate coaches.
