That would be nice...however, even though it's possible the current staff may know that Crean is leaving, I have my doubts that any one on the staff would have been told who the next coach would be, and it not be leaked to media, especially if it's someone like Donovan.

If the rumors of Crean's demise end up being true, then we better get cracking and chopping wood to get this thread to 1000 pages.

Maybe if we all try to believe Billy is interested, and that the money is right, maybe...just maybe it will come true.

I will say for those still holding out hope for Billy Donovan though as bleak as it sounds, remember the last couple of coaching searches neither Sampson nor Crean's names were leaked ahead of time, maybe...just maybe...they are killing the Donovan rumor to keep it on the down low.

Any well-sourced posters will not reveal their sources, or they may lose that connection. And any long-time posters that are making up stuff to mess with other posters emotions will lose all credibility if what they say is going to happen doesn't happen.

Or it may be the other well sourced posters dont want to reveal as much just yet, to each his own.

It may be that others have heard it, and that's why many are saying wait until the season is over.

Those who still think Fred Glass will give Crean another year are either the kind of people who say the opposite of what they hope will happen for fear of their wishes not coming true, or they are not seeing the big picture of what is really happening to the program. If you really think about it, and see the entire work of Crean's time at IU, and the expectations that Glass himself has mentioned of the job, then it's logical to surmise that it's time for a change. Also, many of the well sourced and reliable posters on multiple websites are hearing the same thing...Crean is gone at season's end.

No way beating Northwestern at home by one point is going to factor into the decision to fire or keep Crean.

I can guaran-darn-tee you that if Crean is not fired after this season this thread will break 1000 pages.

Not sure what you saw, but one thing I read made it sound like that IU and Donovan's people have talked, but things aren't really moving forward right now, and almost seemed to hint at a breakdown or something.

It appears the plot isn't as thick as we hoped.

Then by all means...keep posting.

If IU doesn't fire Tom Crean, hopefully they mutually part ways with him.
