  1. I’m in the camp of giving second chances. If not Stevens, I want Beard. It’s 1A and 1B and they’re pretty dang close. He can flat out coach and he is more Knight than any.
  2. Guy needs to learn when to make a move (and announcement). How many besides Kathy would agree it’s now?
  3. Someone made a good point in the game thread saying if a kid went to another school they would be a good player. It’s well evidenced that’s true and is reflective of the school and culture. The pampering they do is not results-driven. Find someone who will show them what they can have AND gets them to earn it through their tutelage. They are kids and need leaders! Scott is a part of the problem by being associated with it right now, but he can be the solution. He must step up and wipe the slate clean. The whole program needs it because this time compression is about ready to explode.
  4. Saddest thing about it is they’re not a team. Just a collection of very well paid kids
  5. He takes after his coach. Neither can help themselves.
  6. He’s so in over his head and this guy coached in the NBA! Make it make sense!
  7. Once again I say, may this team find a way into the tournament since Woodson is done-zo regardless.
  8. You know how a restaurant will advertise a new change in ownership/management in hopes to win people back. It’s hit me that the restaurant’s name is Indiana Men’s Basketball and the change did the restaurant no good. Bad restaurants are bad because the experience sucks. What makes the experience? The people, the product and atmosphere. Food for thought. No pun intended.
  9. The mouthful Rice got was warranted by my account. I keep asking myself how you can possibly decide you’re the one to take the last shot when you did nothing (absolutely nothing!) for the entirety of the game and your teammates who fought their tails off to put you in that spot and contributed are beside you? If it was me, I recognize I’m not having a great game and I’m feeding my teammates like a point is supposed to do.
  10. This is a level of awareness the coach and point guard do not have. Painter said they were fortunate Galloway didn’t have the ball in his hands, and he’s right because of what you said. It’s a top-down failure at IU. Instead of playing the blame game, I hope the entire culture is changed. Mike was supposed to bridge the gap to our roots so we could flourish anew. Yikes.
  11. Ballo did go after Rice…verbally. In the heat of competition, you must be ready for it all. Ballo certainly gave Rice his. https://x.com/joe_cronin03/status/1885542049086095607?s=46&t=AnGlZsb2hQqJCetbi3nDTg
  12. Too many “What-Ifs” from tonight. It’s the disappointment from not being able to cross the threshold time and time again that gets me with this program. The “right there” is the lesson they - top to bottom - need. Or it’s new leadership altogether . Consistently self-sabotaging is in the history.
  13. . Or the cutting Goode, sums it up. Rice is on my sh-t list. Seriously the last person who should have had that shot tonight
  14. The cutting Goode makes Rice’s play that much more ridiculous. 5 seconds left on the clock when he pulls up. Five. What is up with these kids these days not taking it up to the moment?
  15. Just watched the Renn then Rice sequence again. It was panic rushing then as it is now. Rice had so much time left to do anything else. He frenzied, pulled up and left the ball feet short. Terrible basketball.
  16. My one observation and only thing I will say tonight is Woodson seems to be frequently late in his recognition and decision-making. Last game he calls a timeout; this game he does not. Feel for the game is a skill, and his is severely lacking. Effort hides a bunch of coaching, and for the most part it did tonight, but when it mattered most he was late to act upon the game or did not at all.
  17. While I agree, I want to add who knows if kids these days even realize what that means? Ok, fine, so be it. Understand what those character traits are and find them. Do people realize that’s exactly what Painter does? Then you sell them on that idea and what Indiana means. You get that buy in, which breeds accountability. Then, next thing you know, the whole team embodies that idea. The leadership at Indiana currently is a joke.
