These kids knew what they were doing. Acting like these kids are dumb is pretty out of touch with reality.

They fully realize they are taking sham classes. College students are responsible enough to pick a major that they think helps them for the rest of their lives. Or do you think older adults (parents or otherwise) should be picking majors for all of the students because they're too dumb to figure out for themselves?

19 years old are old enough to make their own decisions. If they are mature enough to enlist in the army then they are mature enough to figure out if sham classes are helping them. They went along with it because it was easy and kept them eligible to play basketball. Acting like they have no culpability in this and are clueless is akin to people trying to blame their woes on everyone but themselves. Every college student makes decisions that will likely effect them for the rest of their lives just by picking their major.

Yea, just like every employee gets swindled when compared to their CEO/Owner. NBA/NFL players get swindled by owners. Employees get swindled by CEOs/Management If players get paid then they should then be considered public employees and subject to anything that applies as such. If we are going to talk about the unfairness to players, then lets discuss how that is real life for pretty much everyone but the 1%ers. However, players have it much better than their peers. Otherwise, they would just play basketball at the HPER without a scholarship.

A free college education and access to top of the line facilities and trainers is worth a pretty penny. As a parent of 3 kids, I could only hope one of them gets a free college education.

how about put the schools on a wheel (like in shoe carnival) and video yourself spinning it and it landing on the school that is eliminated. Or put water balloons on a board that are the color of the school (with school's name on it) and throw a dart at the one you want to eliminate.

He's in-state now. I wouldn't turn him down just to get 4 from among native born Hoosiers. But I see the point that we could get top 4 native born Indiana players assuming Franklin passes Gillis while he is out injured. I would think if we took Newman and Franklin then the staff doesn't feel too confident in landing all 3 of stewart, brooks and TJD.

Even sans Gillis, that puts Franklin at 5th.

Is Franklin even in the top 4? Stewart, Brooks, TJD, Newman, Gillis (PU) If we get Newman and Franklin then not sure how we could fit Stewart, Brooks and TJD. We pretty much take ourselves out of at least 1 of the top 3. Of course, it's not a given all 3 want to come to IU.
