I had that happen last week when I start the Ads thread. The reason I was asking in that thread bc that was happening to me.

Why would Cronin even entertain leaving the Blue Blood UCLA for IU? UCLA has a rich history of athletes and donors and their NIL potential is waiting to explode, with (in my opinion) larger potential than ours. Cronin being a Midwest guy is the only reason I can think of why he would even want to leave but even that is wishful thinking. He has never to my knowledge mentioned being enamored with the IU job like Pearl or Beard. He’s not a former IU or Indiana guy like Stevens, May, or Alford. it would be very similar to Self leaving Kansas for IU. I don’t see it even remotely happening.

I have wondered that as well. I’ve gotta think it will be though. I can’t imagine us going for an assistant. There aren’t many options that aren’t on one of these two lists except the likes of Matta, Fife, Dakich, Beilein, Painter and other B1G coaches that I can’t really see leaving their schools. I don’t know that would consider any of them realistic.

I don’t know if anyone is watching this selection show special but I really hate that they are doing this. It was terrible for football because it places more emphasis on what happens at the end of the season and week to week instead of looking at the whole body of work. I feel the real process should not start until the regular season ends. The conference tournaments should only affect the auto bids. if this selection show is just speculation then that is completely fair and fine, but this is being presented as this is the committees actual picks as of now. That’s a bad precedent to start in my opinion. And I do realize basketball has a larger body of work than football, more games on the schedule, but I hate the in season reveal.

No worries and I get what you're saying. I just think a second group is always kind of going to be like that. But to be fair as well, some of the names on this least are far more successful that I would have guessed they were. So while they are not the big names for the most part (except a few), I think they could be in a few years. Time will tell obviously.

I want to believe Issac, I really do. And did. However, the pace of information today is throwing up red flags and I can't explain why, but in the last hour or so, something in me feels like I have been duped. Again, hoping it's just paranoia but there is just something that I can't put my finger on right now.........

Results are in: I gave 100% for a Yes vote, 50% for a Neutral vote, and 0% for a No vote. Based on this, the candidates who would bring this fan base together the most would be Brad Stevens and Dusty May (No shocker here). Micah Shrewsberry and Brad Brownell would also unite the fan base, just in anger as they were the least approved (Shrews 11%, Brownell 20%). Cronin is a close third on this list at only 25% approval rate. The most divisive candidates include: Buzz Williams, Ben McCollum, Greg McDermott, and Chris Beard all at 54%. Followed by Shaka Smart 45%, Grant McCasland 58% Candidates with a 80% of above approval rate: Mark Few 80%, TJ Otzelberger 82%, Jay Wright 82%, Bruce Pearl 82%, Nate Oats 85%, Dusty May 91%, and Brad Stevens at 96% The most neutral votes went to Ben McCollum, Dennis Gates, and Grant McCasland, all in the 60's. The most NO's went to Michah Shrewsberry at 137, which is more yes votes and all other candidates except May and Stevens. Data: Ranking: Again, this exorcise was two fold. One, to see how people were feeling about the candidates on a large scale as opposed to through the threads and to open some eyes of people on how others really view the candidates that they may be pushing. I don't think there were many real shockers in here except Shrews and Cronin. You could maybe lump Self in that category as I was a little surprise at how low his number was, but (my opinion) maybe his success of the last couple of decades was due to improper benefits that gave him (and other coaches similar) an unfair advantage in attracting talented ball players and with the NIL, that advantage has dissipated and people are coming around to that notion as well? The next biggest attention getter for me, is probably TJ Otzelberger being so high. I don't know that I even knew who he was prior the talk about a new coach but he has over 80% approval and 119 Yes/Approve votes.

The same reason that a warning labels has to be put on Hot Coffee? JK To each his own, everyone has an opinion and you know what they say about opinions. HAHA

I looked through my setting everywhere I can think to look and didn't see this as a setting anywhere? Maybe bc you're a mod?

On Goode, not if he is currently not doing arm days. Could be the reason he started off so slow (like the whole team did) until they caught up their new bodies and strengths. Not saying this as fact, just giving my personal opinion on the possible explanation. Also, maybe Archie hired a similar style S&C coach at Rhode Island?

I am in the camp that believes Marshall has a ton to do with our shooting issues. When I played in HS our coaches warned us that significant weight lifting would affect our shooting and we would need to put in twice the shooting work to maintain. Also, it was heavily discourage during season. Anytime you mess with the shooting motion ratio (including visual, muscle memory and strength) that its is going to affect your percentage/ability until your brain retrains itself and gets the ratio back in sync. Now, that could be all BS, but I do know I shot worse immediately after nearly every single time, so I believe it from first hand experience.

Except he hates the NIL stuff. Have to have a GM that embraces it I would think.
