  1. LB Jayden McDonald to UConn - his third transfer and fourth school overall (Iowa, Troy, and Indiana previously.)

By my math I am tracking eight remaining in the portal (Holloman, Bohler, Miller Jr., Jeffries, Jared Casey, Greenlow and both Minor's) with 80 committed for the Fall.

  2. Hoosiers pick up another former JMU player in RB Solomon Vanhorse.  Interesting profile as the majority of his production came early in his tenure at JMU, 2019 season, with the last two seasons being impacted by injuries.  Rivals sees his role primarily on Special Teams.

With Vanhorse's commitment, the Hoosiers are at 80 scholarships for the Fall with 5 spots remaining.

Love seeing the multiple years of eligibility remaining as well.  I believe both Ponds and Tucker have three years remaining which is important as we think about long-term program construction.

4 years of eligibility, too, with a chance to play a fair amount of snaps this season.

I was a big fan of his coming out of New Pal - I wouldn't turn down the commit.

Unrelated, but I  am seeing Holloman is now in the poooorrtal.  Leaves CCC with 78 scholarships for next year and nine former scholarship players in the portal.

You know what.. I don't think I added the Austin Peay, most recent transfer into my thought process. I'm 99% sure you're right, 5 schollies... wouldn't surprise me if 2-3 more leave, though, and we end up with 7-8 to play with.

I am with you, I expect CCC to fill at least 7-8 spots in the coming weeks....maybe more.  It was clear to me last night that the talent infusion must continue on this roster (specifically on the defensive side) to reach the staff's expectations.

We have AT LEAST 6 open spots

With the portal additions of Larkins, Minor, and Miller I have CCC and staff at 80 scholarships - 5 open- going into the fall with 10 former scholarship athletes in the portal as of today (Lowry, Howland, Perry, Boehler, Miller (TE), Larkins, Blidi, Casey, Jones, and Minor (LB).). Are you tracking another entry @btownqb?

Listened to the Goodman podcast today. Evidently Drew’s daughter is a sophomore at Baylor and his other kids are younger. I don’t think he leaves Baylor while his daughter is there.

I didn't realize Drew had a college-aged kido at Baylor, great insight.  I've also heard anecdotally that Drew is a deeply religious man and the orientation of Baylor and Waco, TX in general suits him and his family well.

This is where things get interesting.  Galloway is going to play a lot and then we have 3 guards already as backups.

I feel like we have 2-3 starter spots to sell and then 3-4 bench spots.

Staff will need to figure out the starter/depth piece part of the puzzle.

    not easy in the portal.

Normally I would be right there with you @WayneFleekHoosier, but given the dearth of quality across the roster I think there is a little bit of just 'add dudes and pray the staff can figure it out in the coming months.'  Not the ideal strategy, but when Leal, Anthony Walker and Cupps are your only semi-dependable reserves you know a talent infusion is desperately needed.

  9. DE Trey Laing entered the portal at the end of March, not a huge loss in terms of production as he didn't see game action in '23.  By my tracker, this puts CCC's roster at 85 grants for the '24 season although further movement post-Spring Ball wouldn't surprise.879272921_ScreenShot2024-04-06at10_21_26AM.thumb.png.67eb4e7b238983d86f2ca83d87edcc34.png

I’m on board. I’d love to see Dolson’s big board of coaches.

I think he’s praying Woodson can go 3 more and find some success, but he better have his big board ready in case this season turns cluster.

I’ve said this before, but in some ways I love Woodys moxy. I mean, that heat was hot. He could of cowered and we all would have rejoiced. But he bet on himself to come back into the blazing kitchen and give it a go. I honestly hope it all ends miraculously. It would be best.

  11. Quick update on outgoing transfers:

Philip Blidi has visits lined up to Washington (April 5-7th), LSU (April 10-12th), Oklahoma (April 19-20th)

Anthony Jones is visiting Cal this weekend (April 4-6th)

Not seeing much on Kam Perry or Jared Casey so we shall see on that front.
