  1. How’d that turn out? I’m not near a tv. I saw a tweet saying they were up 14 and still only had a 2% chance of winning. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  2. Purdue won it that year, followed by UM and then IU in 3rd. The loss to Minnesota was significant because a win meant we’d have moved into a tie for 1st with 4 games remaining. Instead, we got rolled and then dropped 2 of the next 4. Dropping us to 3rd. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  3. I didn’t look it up. Just going off of memory from 25 years ago. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  4. Yeah, that’s right I remember now. I saw someone on here say we were 15th at the time but I think it was higher than that. Possibly 11-12? The thing I remember was being really excited before the start because we could have taken over 1st in the Big Ten with a win. Kind of started to unravel after that. Not completely, they still went to the sweet 16 but didn’t finish strong in conference. I agree with what mdn82 said as well. Kind of felt like that was the start of it slipping away. Watching coach just sitting there like he didn’t care was so, I don’t know, unreal almost. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  5. I’m not sure what our ranking was at the time, only that it was high. I guess for some reason I remember that as a home game. You sure it was on the road? I’ll take your word for it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  6. I don’t remember when it was, maybe 94-95? One of RMK’s teams lost a game to a 10 loss Minnesota team by 50 points. Like 105-54. Minny was bottom of BigTen and Indiana was either leading or in 2nd. Was only our 5th loss of the year if I remember right. I think we were 16-4 when it happened. 8. Yes, very much. It is refreshing isn’t it? See, the thing is, I don’t need to assign blame. I think if we start looking for someone to blame after a bad loss like that, we will be blaming people all day, which is what we are doing now. Blaming Crean, blaming Archie, blaming Newkirk, blaming Johnson, blaming recruiting. No. I wanted to watch that presser and have someone take responsibility. I wanted to get an explanation of what went wrong and I wanted to look at his body language and know it was not just business as usual. I wanted to look into his eyes and hear 1. That he does indeed know what the problems are and 2. He has a plan, and the will to correct them. I think we got that. I think we deserved that because they quit. Plain and simple, they quit. I watched and listened to CAM very closely Monday night. What did I see? It’s not going to be “business as usual” in Bloomington any more. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  9. Heard something tonight from assembly call that I agree with. (Heavily paraphrased) They said although the coaching staff certainly deserves some of the blame for the loss, it’s very difficult to decide what for. Most of the players on the floor, lost to that team last year. They knew better than anyone that IPFW could beat them if they didn’t have effort and focus. They knew it. And in regard to the free perimeter shots, of the 17 hit, 13 of them were hit by just two guys....How as players, were they not able to recognize who was torching them? I find it hard to assign blame to the coaching staff in this. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  11. My point early this season was that this, what you just described, is what we will find all the way down to the bottom of the B1G. Teams that routinely attempt 30 triples per game. I was suspicious that the pack line was not only a dangerous defense for this 2017 team, but a risky defense for use in conference play. It’s been tried to some degree over the years with very marginal success. Wisconsin used a different version of it under Dick Bennett. They had a few good seasons but would get pole stomped by teams with quick guards and shooters. Had more than one, first round exits from the tournament via that route. Other than that, I don’t believe many teams have tried a traditional pack line in the BigTen. I have to think there is a reason for it. The one good thing I can see, in relation to this years team, is that the scores, for the most part, seem to be in the 60’s-70’s. With the known offensive limitations, this at least keeps them within ten. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
