  1. Row 41 tonight for me. Chuck Crabb was walking around up here for some reason.
  2. I second all of the love for ROJO. He is the kind of 4 year guy we need as our foundation.
  3. [ Would people be okay if the next IU coach is a fill in for a few years before Brad comes home? I don't know who that might be but established coach who doesn't have too many years left before he's willing to bow out. [/quote] Personally, I'm not real crazy about that idea. Too many things could go wrong. I know I will get hammered for saying this but I'd rather ride it out until we can get The right guy. The next coach has to be the right coach.
  4. This is such a great statement.  It's one of the reasons I took my time in jumping on the "time to move on" train.  The next hire has to be the right hire, not necessarily the sexy hire.  I want to win games not just a press conference.  I think the easiest thing in the world to do is to fire a coach.  It is much much more difficult to hire the right one.  Anyone can hire the flavor of the month.  I want the flavor of the next 25+ years.   I remember right before Crean was hired that a rumor was swirling that an IU plane was on the way to Las Vegas to pick up Lon Kruger.  There was a collective groan among Hoosier fans, partly because he wasn't a "name" hire.  Look at what the guy has done/is doing at Oklahoma though.  We'd kill for that right now.     I know this point gets beaten to death, but no one knew who Bob Knight was before he came to Bloomington.  We need to do the significant diligence you mention to make sure we find the right guy whether any of us are familiar with him or even initially happy with him or not.
  5. Sounds familiar.   I could only listen last night, so I won't comment too much, but we sounded bad.  Fischer was none to happy with our turnovers or Troy's out of control play.     From what I heard it was probably a good thing we played a cupcake last night.
  6. It was but, having RMK always have me hope we would adjust and get better.
  7. That's quite true. I bet AJ hated turnovers too.
  8. I'm my 31 years of watching IU basketball, this is the worst game EVER.
  9. I can't wait for McNeese St. on Saturday.
  10. We would be eyeball deep in it without Yogi tonight.
  11. "Under control, that is when he is special." Fischer on Troy
  12. Has Bryant touched the ball in the post at all tonight?
  13. Troy sounds our of control tonight.
  14. Slow starts are too common with us
  15. For the sake of discussion I would ask this then, would you be okay with 18-13, slipping in as a bubble team, then getting hot and going on a run to the Elite 8?     With the nature of the NCAA tournament, I think black and white statements of what has to happen for a coach to be retained or let go is kind of a tricky exercise.  Johnny Dawkins was on the hot seat until a sweet 16 run as a 10 seed.  He promptly went back to the NIT.  If not for that two week stretch he might have been fired already.     I have no idea what the perfect formula is, but I think there has to be some sort of combination of regular season performance and post season results.  I think Stuhoo was on the right track with his formula earlier in the thread.
  16. I know we all have been spoiled with being able to easily watch every game, but, guys, Fischer is great.  I know radio isn't "seeing it", but this guy is a legend. I am sure he will be calling IU games for years to come, but think about tuning him in tonight before he hangs it up one of these years.  Don't take this great part of the IU basketball tradition for granted and say he'll always be there.     Thanks to all those of you posting streams.  Your effort is appreciated.  I don't want you to think it is not.
