  1. I believe Crawford, Bassett, Jamarcus Ellis all had to miss because of their actions on the Chicago trip. Not sure if Holman or McGee were involved, because it would have been hard to tell what the reason they didn't play was, but I'm confident it was their style...
  2. That would be a huge blow for illannoy
  3. Typically, when "good luck" is said they way you did, it is more akin to "yeah. Whatever", than it is "good luck"   I'm old school too. Possibly from the same time period as you. I took the Bob Knight coaching class. I went to BK's birthday roast. I attended BK's address to the students at the auditorium.   Not many teams play that way anymore. Not saying I like it, I'm just wondering who the legitimate go to guy is, if Crean's chance is up.
  4. Louisville only took 27 years....   And masterful Slick Rick managed it in only his 12th year as their coach. Of course Indiana could never be good enough over the next 5/6 years by Crean's 12th year.
  5. As good a name as any.   Stephens has never won one. Ollie is about to become Mike Davis 2.0. No "tenured" guy is coming. Smart hasn't done anything special is 4-5 seasons... Marshall Smarshal   Who else ya got?
  6. That defensive presence would have elevated this team to top 15
  7. The good thing about all their youngsters and press clippings is that they WILL take some teams lightly. Hopefully by the time they decide to flip the switch, there won't be enough time left to avoid the upset.
  8. The SMU game was part of that round robin "tournament". I don't think there is any reciprocity involved with any of those teams
  9. Exactly, that's why I try to look at it objectively. It's definitely hard to do sometimes.   Who would want to lose to Wichita State?
  10. And it seems like people would be much more OK with losing to UNLV than to Eastern Washington...
  11. I agree. Not so much a lessor of 2 evils for me but, at this point, pUKe has the greatest chance to run the table, so the sooner they get an L the better.
  12. The only difference between an IU fan that is alumni and an IU fan that is not alumni is, well, nothing really that pertains to fandom...
  13. Hopefully that'll make 'em even more hungry to beat pUKe
  14. Tan doesn't hurt but my pasty whiteness has certainly not had much of an impact when I'm out talent scouting and bringing home a new recruit
  15. I don't think so. I think he broke his right hand
  16. Yeah, Maybe. Except, in reality,  the "big guy" who was getting over 29 a game, got 8. Yep 8 minutes. Coincidental that Luke Fisher sat for 7 and the "old big" played only 8?   As the back-up that never played last year Luke averaged more than 8.
  17. Oh oh. That could be big
  18. You just labeled me. Why's it ok for you?   In retrospect, I hope that joker didn't get paid for that post because the only part that wasn't plagiarized or common knowledge, was fictitious.
  19. I agree with the best 7 or 8 guys getting the minutes, predicated upon positions, but it had NOTHING to do with MQ last night. It was neccessity
  20. Rob Dauster, he had shoulder injuries and he scored 10 points in 19 minutes in his last game.   oh yeah, if Marquette had Noah Vonleh last night LF might not have gotten 33 mins either!
  21. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/eye-on-college-basketball/24897941/dayton-dismisses-two-primary-bigs   Dayton releases only 2 big men, for stealing. Tough for the team, but the right choice
  22. It's a really silly comment, in my opinion. Luke has practiced his arse off for 12 months, he didn't need babied in, he needed to play. Their tallest other player was 6'7" and there were only 2 subs to go around. It's kind of a slight to everyone with common sense to act like WOJO did some masterful job of tightening the rotations.   I watched the game. The entire game. I've NEVER watched an entire Marquette game. EVER. I watched because of Luke Fischer. I didn't want him to fail (that's not me) but this writer is a little off the deep end.   Remember, Lukes BEST GAME came in his last game at IU. He was ready to break out.   Also, NO, Will Sheehey didn't graduate before Luke arrived.     Silly comment part does not address you Wayne but the writer.
  23. It's an ok article. I just don't know why writers ramble so much these days. By the time they finish their good story becomes monotonous
  24. "It's made it all the way to Boston"   Matthew Glenesk, matthew.glenesk@indystar.com  Do you still drive a horse and buggy?
  25. The dynamics of that time period caused a lot of 'misses' and the uniqueness of the situation is still causing problems now. It'll get rectified, I believe, in '15 and with '16's recruits.
