  1. Georgia State might get a new wing...
  2. Hires and recruits have always been called home runs etc, never a touchdown or a basket.   Failures have always been called strikeouts, not turnovers, although occasionally they are fumbles.   And we all know what getting to 2nd base is, but not crossing midfield or making it to the top of the key.   However, I'm sure, like Pitino, Jaybob gets a lot of 10 second violations.
  3. You might take them, but it doesn't mean Indiana becomes what you want it to be, with them coaching.
  4. Such a cop out attitude.   There is no try. You get a known quantity at this level or you don't.  If you don't have a legitimate, confirmed bad ass coach coming, I don't agree with pissing around with another one like we already have, just for the sake of change. That's a cubs mentality. Crean for 1 or 2 more years before a stud comes along is 10,000 times better than a new 7 year contract with some same old same old.
  5. Might walk, might get hit by a pitch, might see a wild pitch or a passed ball that advance a runner, all of which help your cause until the home run hitter comes to the plate.
  6. Gonna strikeout if they swing at a bad pitch.
  7. Clever, but he's a double all day long compared to these mid-major mainstays.
  8. I just don't see any good options. For the most part they are mid-major coaches with a similar pre-IU resume as Crean had.   As someone said earlier in the thread. Most of these guys are Doubles, not home runs.
  9. I think if you're already on a team (not a recruit) you'd lose a year, regardless. Might be wrong though.
  10. It would serve a lot of we fans right if Yogi and Troy did follow Crean. We'd become the 09 team with another mid-major coach and Crean would probably make the tournament with Yogi and 'Bama.   If we don't get a coach with multiple elite 8's or better, it's a failure.
  11. Maybe they'll go all in for whomever wins Friday!
  12. I get that, but if they asked while we were still playing, I'd have told them to go pound sand. We have a National Championship to win.   and, if any of the 68 coaches aren't preparing their teams to win a national championship over the next 4 weeks, then they need to find a new profession.
  13. If it's true they asked and got permission, then it's before the season is over. Maybe we're misunderstanding each other.
  14. For me, the timing is bullshit. I'd say F you Alabama. Ask me when our season is over.
  15. Poor vitale having to kiss that washed up Kentucky pig!
  16. no better than 3rd team, but still impressive
  17. It doesn't actually guarantee the scholarship four years, to my understanding. It guarantees them 4 years of paid education at IU,Should they chose to stay and take it, as a non-athlete.
  18. I don't believe it's the same. We will still have 13 scholarship players and they will have 11 or whatever.
  19. It's almost impossible to go 10 posts without a comment that matches the thought, but that doesn't veer it off track.   I hope Thomas Bryant has had a couple days of positive reflection on his awesome IU visit and that he's been daydreaming about how he can lead us next season against many of these teams that have given us trouble on the inside.
  20. I think they'd have to get rid of 4 scholarship players to bring him in.
  21. I am a lot more confident in Bryant to IU than I am Thon Maker, but I would welcome either and take them both!   I think Syracuse is out of the picture with Thomas and pUKe seems to be who people worry about with Thon, but we'd be pretty darn good with him. Cody and Noah got to the NBA through Indiana just fine
  22. Exactly, it might be a little easier to get up for big competition when there are 2 or 3 easy games in between. They've had some scares against sub par competition. They likely can't play that way once in the tournament.
