Most vocal voice on the board the last 20 years for the direction of this University’s money programs. Good friend of Glass prior to the hire and probably his staunchest supporter during his term. If you are a friend of his it makes no difference how you perform at your job as long as you can show you are still making money. Only once have I heard that man speak up about the wins and losses of our program and it was in 2019. He followed that up with they got the right man for the job. Tiny has his separate issues beyond that, but yeah. If you want to look at people directly responsible for the last 20 years he is in top 5 for sure. Well I am sure like most everything the truth is somewhere in the middle for a lot of things. Do I think IU fires Archie this year? Nope. Should they if we make the tourney? In my opinion no. That was my baseline for him to buy a 4th year. Progress from last year. Should they if we don’t make the tournament? Without hesitation. It is year 3. Even though I wouldn’t, would I understand if they fired him after these 3 years at IU? Absolutely. There would be no argument from me if they did after this in spite of what I would do. I think that’s the disconnect from the “positive” to the “negative” side in all of this. I don’t think we are all that different in our thoughts. I just think in this environment it’s hard to really gauge what a person truly thinks. Nobody would ask either side those questions above. Both sides would wait for the first opportunity to pick something that fits their narrative. I am as guilty as anyone for that stuff. I think my problem with them on this is they need to look at the National numbers first. Second they need to realize handicapping any coach or resource of the program only makes things more difficult for us to collectively get what we want. Then we have no leaders on this team if that were the case. Players police that. Right now it’s a collective **** show. There is enough blame to go around. Everyone has to take a collective step forward. For all of Crean’s faults he wasn’t afraid to kick a kid off of a team if there was an issue. He was made fun of for this. That’s exactly what we need right now is for a coach to walk in and take control of the situation. Then he needs to put players in the role of captains that are an extension of him.
