IU 83 UNLV 64   We keep the turnovers under 15. We will still have our 7-10 minutes where it looks ugly but overall much better game on both sides.   Get home and get some rest before easy game Monday before at Duke Wednesday.

Another way of looking at things is that this loss can take pressure off of a team with no one expecting them to go to Duke and win. If they do that....losing to Wake will be a distant memory.

As long as it makes more sense than your points after Michigan game. Have a good one.

Easy to cherry pick 1 example here and there....I'm talking about decades of futility. Please don't try to defend our defense again this week.

I just don't know what the answer is about our defense. Coaching/Players/Scheme....but my hats off to our players on other side of ball. You would think at some point a player on offense would pop off and say something to the defensive players. 

I know the problem. We scored so fast on our first possession our defense has to be tired....smh

I think we discussed a little after Michigan game....but I'll reiterate my point. Our defense is just horrible. Nobody ever wants to step up.

Can't evaluate yet. I'll know more after the Duke game....plus NCAAT is all about match ups and draw. Our team got a bad one in 2013.   Hopefully our path might be a little more friendly this year with Regionals (most likely for us) are in Chicago or Louisville.

Of course it's not the only reason but for the sake of all facets of each game....our defense over the years is numero uno.

So basically your point is that our offense needs to slow down how often/fast it scores because it's their responsibility to help the defense out too? Maybe Howard should start stopping after 9 yards (even with open field ahead of him) just so we don't get a first down and give our defense an extra 15-25 seconds to rest...   In terms of how quickly Penn St and Ohio St scored. Take a look at the landscape of college football. 2 minutes drives are sometimes an eternity with stoppage of play every first down.    We can agree to disagree....but  IU Defense is the only reason we haven't been to a bowl game recently and quite honestly over the last 20+ years. 

Giving praise for 34 and 29? Our Defense is one of the key reasons that we continue to become a bubble bowl eligible team every single year. Just one play vs Michigan, one play vs Rutgers....even using your example of Ohio St. One play holds any of those long runs and changes game.   I'm ticked at our clock management. I'm ticked at not running Howard. In the end though our defense is the reason we've been beat 6 straight. Anyone who doesn't see that either has a nephew on the team or a relative on the defensive staff.

Just out of curiosity which games are you referring? 34 points vs Ohio St and poor tackling/angles that led to 3 long runs? Rutgers game...enough said. That was the game we needed for bowl and it was all on the defense.  Iowa 35...and of course Michigan 48.    Like I said just curious which of the conference games you think our defense was legit? I guess you could say we had moments in Ohio St game...and maybe a moment here or there?

Wilson is going to get much of the criticism (and maybe rightfully so) but can someone on our effing defense once make a play?? Clock management and pass vs run call aside....the kids on our defense need to step up. We are so very close to getting over the hump but no one will ever realize it until players make plays.

I guess that's the thing I'm a little concerned about getting up or down. DD is a great addition....but not one and done material so I'm not sure it's meltdown worthy.   Trust me. Would love to have him (and for the record I think he chooses IU) but meltdown? Meltdown was for Gary Harris/Trey Lyles...or Oden/Conley.   I guess the Noah Vonleh recruitment has changed my mind a bit. We didn't start watching him until the final 90 days and we pulled him in. If we miss...I expect our staff to be pissed for 30 minutes and start hitting the phones tonight at 5:32 EST.

It's a shame only his 36 followers will know about it...

After his coach came out last week and said his comments about IU still leading I knew we were in trouble. Coach said that so they could use the all so common they were leading but his visit blew him away comments......blah blah blah. This plan was in place all along. Tough miss for our staff given the time involved.   If a kid wants to choose MSU over IU....so be it. Still plenty of talent in 2016 who would die for the chance to play not only at IU but along Bryant....whether it's a new recruit, one we've recruited already or even 5th year transfer.    My funeral for this miss will be short. We have an excellent nationally ranked team. Go Hoosiers!
