I would be ecstatic with either one. I KNOW substantial resources have been poured into the courting of these two candidates which was my basis for debunking the Stevens rumors in my first post. It's entirely possible they are merely backup options or smokescreens for the conspiracy folks and we end up with Stevens. I do not think anything is done from a verbal standpoint and believe Iowa is a big player in how this plays out.

I agree that BM to Iowa is the most logical outcome, BUT suppose his agent floated the Goodman rumor yesterday knowing the Iowa position would open today. To put the scheme into motion, the agent then created BM to Iowa buzz for the sole purpose of creating a bidding war between IU and Iowa; BUT despite public opinion, knows his client wants the IU job due to resources, prestige and namely - more pay & NIL which is ultimately all he cares about it. I used a semicolon, Kathy.

Google AI says the sleeper pick is McCollum. Yesterday it was Otz. Even AI has no clue. It was Pearl yesterday using Bing Copilot. Now it’s back to BM. Shouldn’t be surprising given Goodman’s thank you very little nugget yesterday. Anybody have DeepSeek?

My biggest concern regarding this search is how Scott referred to Woody as a “homerun hire”. I just hope that was marketing spin and overcompensating for a crap hire versus actually believing those words.
