    I never said they weren’t. I was arguing that he would produce similar results to Tom crean. And someone said he would be better than that. Tom crean got fired one year removed from a big ten championship and a sweet sixteen for having a season like Cronin had last year. If crean wasn’t good enough, don’t hire Cronin.

    To me, it’s that I think Mick Cronin would produce similar results to what we saw in the Tom crean era and McCollum could be better. McCollum is riskier but has a higher ceiling IMO

    Sure. There is absolutely risk with beard, no doubt about it. But he is an elite coach and I think he would take the job in a heartbeat

    Beard has been to the national championship and the elite 8 in separate seasons at Texas tech. He also won a conference title there. but we’re comparing him to Chris Collins because their record vs quad 1 is similar record vs quad 1 is appearing more and more overblown by the post

    I don’t think Cronin is a bad coach. He’s just in lower tier than beard IMO. He was 16-17 last year (his 5th year) at UCLA if Cronin goes 16-17 his fifth year at IU the student section will be chanting “fire Cronin” and leaving at halftime

    Right.. he coached at Texas Tech and Ole Miss not teams that are historically powerhouses in their respective conferences. compared to UCLA in the pac 12 and UC in the AAC/Big East

    There are just too many other things at play. A quad 1 game could be playing the best team in the country on the road or the 75th best team in the country on the road. IMO beard is in a different league than Cronin. I’m not impressed with what Cronin has done at UCLA

    Chris beard wins everywhere he goes. Mick Cronin has a high conference winning percentage because he coached for years in the American athletic conference

    C’mon man.. “beard lasted 1.5 seasons at Texas” he was 7-1 in his second season at Texas when he got fired. Him “not lasting at Texas” had nothing to do with his coaching. The dude wins

    Chris beard is 5-7 against quad 1 at Ole miss mike Woodson is 3-11 against quad 1 at IU that comparison is not a good one

    He coaches at Ole Miss. He took Texas Tech to their first final four in school history.
