He clearly is a closer and also targets who he wants and doesn’t just settle or freak out by not having a full roster or staff. To do this without a full staff is genuinely impressive and he’s put a crap ton of hours in to get all of these players

Yes a good friend of mine who was in my wedding is an assistant coach there. He would be an absolute great pickup and fits what DeVries is looking for to a T.

Ok so let me start by saying my buddy hates the portal as a mid major coach because they develop guys like Lanier and out their blood,sweat, and tears into them and then lose them to high majors because they get no support financially for NIL… with that being said I asked my buddy and he said yes he’s visiting and he also said the following when I asked if he was good enough for big ten and high caliber guy: sure, he is as good as any other mid major mercenary looking for a pay day. Any player that comes from our program is high character and high academic and good at shooting the 3.

Plus the kids he recruited at WVU just aren’t kids he’s really going to recruit at IU nor would I want him to bring them. Honestly the only other one I would’ve been happy with was Stone but I don’t even think he entered. As far as the freshmen recruits one went to high school in WV, the other two have connections to other assistants he didn’t bring with him. He didn’t bring his assistants for a reason and I trust him until he gives me reason not to.
