Those are NBA level kids. Again…like Tucker, that’s what Woodson was after. And I and not bashing him, just the facts. It’s completely fine to have that strategy with NIL and the portal. How many Indiana high school kids is he after? Or 3 star kids? Low 4 star kids? Ya know, the kids Painter brings in every year.

Trey isn’t a Woodson recruit and you can make the argument he was worse this year than last.

The was the 94th best team in the country and almost got him fired. Don’t think that’s the plan this time around.

Agreed, but that’s not the point. The point was Woodson doesn’t have a history of developing players that aren’t NBA level. And since he is buying a team this year and not focusing on high school kids, that’s probably not his goal next year either.

He played how many mins a game? Got off how many 3s a game versus IU? Who by the way missed the NCAA. If his goal was to play more and shoot more, it was the right move.

Not bashing Woodson, just stating facts. Woodson is buying a team this year. And he is buying players that are better than Cupps. And these players are not coming to IU to sit behind Cupps, including Tucker. Do we agree? How many mins a game are 2 of Rice, Perkins, Carlyle, Conwell going to play at the 1 and 2?

What guard under Woodson improved the most from freshman to sophomore? If IU brings in 2 of the guards they are targeting, add Galloway and Tucker, that’s 4 guys for 80 mins at the 1 and 2. Cupps better get less than 10 and only in specific matchups. And if IU brings in 3 guards… Cupps isn’t playing…

Out of the current guards we are recruiting in the portal, which ones are Cupps better than? And if Cupps isn’t playing point, where are you going to play him? The 2? In front of who? Also, what guard has shown the most improvement from year to year under Woodson? Cupps is the 9th guy for a good team. And that’s probably a stretch….

Out of our current 7 scholarship players, only 4 should be in the rotation for a top 25 team. MM, MR, Galloway, and Tucker. Leal, Newton, and Cupps should be at the end of the bench. And Galloway and Tucker probably shouldn’t start. So, IU needs at least 3 B10 ready starters and at least one if not 2 back ups. At the bare minimum, 4 from the portal. But realistically 5, if not 6. Also, no one is going to transfer to IU to sit behind Leal, Cupps, Newton, and even Galloway.

Would take him in a heartbeat.

Think about if we land 2, along with MM, MR, and Payne….thats a top 10 team. Add the kid from Evansville and let’s do this…. :)

Wow…kinda surprised by this. Thought he would follow Cal. Brother played for Cal. IMO, he is easily top 5 in the class.
