  1. Hope our insiders here are correct, this is from today at the Virginia Tech 247 site. They are claiming VT is without question the team to beat for Clowney. https://247sports.com/college/virginia-tech/board/59428/Contents/time-for-mr-arvin-to-put-on-his-turban-look-into-his-171438383/?page=1
  2. Plays AAU ball with Reed Sheppard who is also a 2023 target for Indiana.
  3. Jeremy Grey is in charge of NIL for Indiana. It's probably going to be easier for colleges in states with no NIL law in place.
  4. Good luck at Syracuse. On to the next one. My prediction is we will have around 15 offical visits for the class of 2022 and will land two GREAT recruits.
  5. That's his 3rd high school. He was in Texas before heading to La Lumiere. Have no idea if this will affect IU's involvement, but in a earlier interview Coach Ya said they looked at how many times a kid jumped from different AAU teams. I'm guessing it's a red flag for some colleges that he's on his 3rd high school. Will be interesting situation to follow although 247 has him as a cyrstal ball going to Baylor.
  6. Did this NFL defensive end take a wrong turn on the way to workout with the Colts? No great player from his high school has ever left the state of Kentucky, but this guy might be the one. He's built for the Big Ten.
  7. If you follow Samuel Story on Twitter, you know the person running that account has insight into IU basketball. He just had a tweet that - reading between the lines - confirms that Indiana missed on Taylor and Flip.
  8. There's great momentum with IU hoops now and to continue that into the 2023 class we can't just miss on everyone we are recruiting and use the portal as our fall back. I agree with you that Woodson and Indiana will be beneficiaries of the portal system, but "failing to find what we want" means we missed on every 2022 recruit we went after. That would not be a good look for this coaching staff. Land at least one very good recruit then make the tourney next season and IU will be be rolling going forward.
  9. Thanks for the update. We are going to lose more than we win as will everyone else. Need some shooters.
  10. Love that Stuhoo. I think we are going to miss on Taylor and Flip. 247 has Vincent as a lock to Baylor as he's from San Antonio. We can certainly roll with Clowney, Banks......and Hood-Schifino who comes on his official visit in a few days. And I agree on Banks. Kid shoots almost 40-percent from the 3-point line and had perhaps the most glowing post IU visit interview I've even seen.
  11. Boiler fans online seem pretty confident they are going to land Washington.
  12. Completely agree. In that article Indiana's coaches are the only mentioned by name. Hoosiers well positioned here just going by his comments.
  13. Same here. Though recruiting only tailed off at the end for Crean and Archie. But I also realize we will lose more than we get. That happens to every school. Woody landing Tamar Bates and the staff of proven recruiters around him have me pretty excited about lots of future talent at IU.
  14. It's a great basketball school and we are always going to be competing with another good school for the players Woody is recruiting. Obviously age isn't a factor as Boeheim turns 77 this year. He will be 81 for recruits who show up in 2022 and play until they are seniors.
  15. Yikes. Thanks for the share. Lots of smoke he's heading to Syracuse. His mom forced him to visit IU?? First I've heard of that. This might be why there was no social media announcment immediately after his Indiana visit as he did for Syracuse and UNC.
  16. That is interesting as Carolina did indeed offer another small forward yesterday. A less positive view is that Taylor annouced his commitment day immediately after that other UNC offer so he might be giving a verbal to the Heels before the other small forward takes the spot. Who knows. Either way Go Hoosiers.
  17. Crazy article about Wisconsin basketball today from the Wisconsin State Journal. Players secretly recorded a meeting with Coach Greg Gard and released the recording. Lots of disfunction in BuckyLand. https://madison.com/wsj/sports/college/basketball/men/wisconsin-men-s-basketball-seniors-confronted-greg-gard-in-secretly-recorded-meeting-here-s-what/article_bf1afb44-c2fe-5983-86fb-4c107e776e15.html#tracking-source=home-top-story
  18. Buzz from Purdue circles is that they are now counting the months before another "We Own This State" social media post after Colvin commits. IU's offer was a shock. And recruiting is a tough business. The weather matters on official visits. The player host matters on official visits. It all matters. I guarantee it matters to Hooks and Booker.
  19. Hmm Dad is a famous Boiler football player and sister just committed to Purdue to play volleyball.
  20. Actually Pitt cancelled the Hood-Schinfino visit and they accepted a commitment from another lower ranked guard today. Hood-Schifino at #25 overall in the 247 composite certainly falls in the category of big time recruits.
  21. The last two college shooting guards to come from IMG averaged around 10 points a game as freshman. Before that Eric Ayala came from IMG and averaged around 8 pts a game for Maryland as a freshman. I've seen a scouting report that compares Bates to former Illinois guard Adam Miller (who transferred to LSU) and Miller averaged around 8 points per game as a freshman. So it's reasonable to assume that Bates, who ranks above a couple of the players mentioned, should be as productive as some of these other comparisons.
  22. Ha. Touche Gnet. It must be crazy for these recruits with the social media accounts, the NIL deal to consider (FYI there's a great podcast on NIL from the Hoosier Hysterics guys a couple of days ago) etc. I ran across Lyndon Jones and Jay Edwards on their official IU visit at a party. Cell phones didnt exist back then so there are no pictures.
  23. Hmm, Chris is very dialed into IU recruiting, so this info combined with the social media thing probably gives us our eventual answer here. But we wait until it's official. I absolutely believe Woodson and his assistants will kill it in recruiting. Super excited to see how it all shakes out.
  24. Hope you are right. No matter what happens this is the best I've felt about IU recruiting in 25 years. Good things are ahead for IU.
