  1. What I saw last year was a team that lacked intensity, consistent effort, will to win, and enthusiasm. Bless his heart for trying, but his methods of leadership didn’t appear to have worked much of the time. Not necessarily his fault, but if he’s coming back it should be for specific tangibles. No one from last year’s team should be added for intangibles imo.
  2. What kind of leadership did you see from Goode last year?
  3. Was it all his fault, no. But if he was a leader on last year’s team he was either a poor leader in where he chose to lead them, or an ineffective leader in not getting much of the team to follow him. Thanks to Tony for his effort on the court, but it’s time for something different.
  4. Do you think Leal was a leader on last year’s team?
  5. You can call it “Too Soft for Any Discord Thread - no Pragmatists or Pessimists Allowed”. Yes, local eateries can be discussed, but only in a positive, complimentary manner. No speculation allowed, either, if you’ve never been there…
  6. Tell your friend that yes, people discuss roster construction & question/express concerns with NIL allocation & if they can’t handle it to just ignore the thread or start a new one where everyone just high-fives each other all day about our imminent, inevitable, unquestionable success next year.
  7. The only relevant question is whether CDD has ever hit on any, school is unlikely to play into success rates.
  8. He will not. Was told he needed to live with teammates. Sisley's understand & are good with it, respect what he’s doing…but no surprise, in the bigger sense, they’re people who “get it.”
  9. I was impressed that CDD reversed Woody’s decision to allow Trent to live with his brother.
  10. It’s riveting watching the top challenger & undisputed champ of doubling down on bad takes locked in a death spiral…
  11. It has been done successfully recently - you’re suggesting they’re just lucky? Our payroll should insure that we make the tournament if the resources are used effectively by a competent staff, you know, like UofL & UM. Why should we expect less?
  12. Do coaches improve with time? If he is 50-60 this year can he only move up if people retire? Was Dan Hurley a top five coach in his first few years or have his rankings followed his results?
  13. I did, no one says or implies it in any way, shape, or form, but go ahead & double down…
  14. A far cry from suggesting they be fired, & if they can name coaches ahead of him & make an argument for their case about his “ranking”, then so be it, he may be right.
  15. “You interpreted?” Lol. I interpret your response as “I am dead wrong & got nuthin’, but I’m gonna argue anyway.” No one has said, or implied he should be fired after a subpar first seasons, you should stop doubling down on an obviously false premise.
  16. Who has stated he should be fired after one year? You have disingenuously avoided that question yet again…
  17. We don’t know what they’d have done because it didn’t happen - that’s the point. What’s the recourse? Disappointment. Can you cite anyone on this board, in any thread suggesting he be fired after year one?
  18. As others have pointed out, more relevant(recency, resources) examples than UConn & Florida exist with UofL, UK, UM. Why should we not expect comparable first seasons? Bad luck, maybe, but the disappointment of missing the tourney would, for me, be due to an indication that our guy isn’t as good as the other 3. Maybe over time he equals or surpasses their success, but there is plenty of evidence we should see it out of the box if we’ve got the dude, given the resources we have. You list a few things that need to happen in the first season or two, & I agree, but none of them are either or propositions with year one success as measured by making the tourney. It’s not worthless, it’s benchmarking, why shouldn’t we do that?
  19. Money isn’t the only consideration, that’s small minded….
  20. What % of Duke “people”, including those that put up the money, would you suggest regret paying him that much or if given the chance to do it over would say they wouldn’t do it again? There will be some since they didn’t win a championship, but I’d bet it’s a low number. If they say he was worth it, then he was….
  21. Either of those things could absolutely be true. It’s ok for people to discuss & acknowledge shortcomings, failures, concerns, etc., just as it’s ok to be positive & optimistic. Ships need sails & anchors. It’s also ok for people to sit out the big boy conversations if they’re too fragile to handle some well-founded pessimism, pragmatism or realistic assessments that suggest everything isn’t peachy. I’ll bet my dollars to your dimes that each group is going to be right & wrong, especially when it comes to recruiting. What’s not ok is portraying those people as taking pleasure from IU’s failures or suggesting that’s what they want to happen. That’s just stupid.
  22. Hasn’t been as many staff members to leak stuff either…
  23. The fact that he didn’t cancel the UK visit after being here but cancelled the Auburn visit after visiting UK suggests it’s UK. If we were still the leader, he’d still take the Auburn visit. Hope not, maybe we threw more $ at him or something…
  24. lol. I had a friend that would take home anything that used to say “the worst I ever had was still wonderful”
  25. Just so it doesn’t get late enough that only fat girls are left…
