CSP replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Oh. Ok ... I prefer Leal over Goode. But, like I said in the last post, every post, 11 games 2min per game... yeah seems about right. -

Haven't seen this much and that's basically the role we want him in this year.... -

I prefer Leal. That's great Goode is going to get his. Leal has a few post-season games, too, I believe. I don't really think either should, tbh. I agree. lol .... you didn't read that post correctly if you think I was criticizing him, you saw the sentence or two right above it when I listed an example of his leadership, yes? I know Goode is a leader; it's evident, the poster, I guess, doesn't. -

Why are you quoting me? We went 19-13 on the season with a losing record against P4 teams. I assume that is the rebuttal we'd hear from the poster I quoted. -

So the differnce between elite and plus is what? Don't agree with that either. Enright is very good catch and shoot, coupled with assist rate, that plays with anyone. Now... those two can't play with Ballo, MM, and Malik...not enough shot creators. Those two--- plus Wilkerson, TDV, and Bailey... oh yeah, that can fit just fine. But again, I don't even want him in that role/on the court all that much. I'm really just talking about a really good practice player, emergency guy. I don't think he'll see the court much with our team we have assembled so far. -

ummm well.... didn't he have to grab our former B1G player of the year and All-American of a coach and essentially force him into the handshake line vs... Maryland? If by leadership you mean.... Ws/LS and results, then no, I guess you wouldn't have found much leadership from him. -

Other than an eye test, how could you support it? Please don't say steals per game or something like that.... I value specific skills at the bottom of the bench or crazy potential/size. Leal does have one of those. This is just discussion, I'm not actually clamoring for him, but as I've stated... absolutely could end up with worse. -

He's just a really good defender. I'm not sure how anyone could argue that. -

This post might hold a little weight if he didn't play 24mpg in conference games. If we're actually deciphering the difference between "elite" and "very good" I really don't care. Call him very good. He's won us games with his defense. -

I don't agree with the bold. I'm not really impressed with Goode the player, but I am with his leadership, toughness, and hustle. Other than that.... his only basketball skill is standing at the 3pt line. I never mentioned how many mins I wanted/expected him to play. With our roster now.... less than 5 mins. I don't really know what I've oversold. He's a very good basketball player in a lot of areas, especially if he's your 11th guy. -

Where are these "die hard Leal truthers" other than the Chicken Sammy? idc about his numbers, there is so much more to a basketball game than the box score. But, I'm always down for an ELITE defender in our 11th-13th spots. Limited? Offensively? yeah I can see that, but other than shooting a basketball, Leal is a better player in every aspect of the game than Goode, as an example. -

wanting Dallas James over Indiana Mr ball, Bloomington Native, and someone who's an elite perimeter defender...... I've absolutely heard it all. -
Foley absolutely developed.

First sentence is for sure a good way to put it.... unfortunately we had that each of the last two years, other than injury. Friday night guy (Sinnard) to legit relievers in Vogel, Buhr this year.
-
Well... the first two games of the year were pitched very well. I just don't think you guys watch enough college baseball.... It's an incredibly offensive game, literally, the SEC has pitchers every weekend that will get drafted and are getting rocked.... Has there been times the staff hasn't been good, yes, for sure.... losing Buhr and not having Vogel to start the year also really hurt. For sure been games the pitching got us beat.... USC game 3 comes to mind. I was wayyyy more upset with the pitching last year than this year. But, again, there have been some pretty hefty examples this year of the offense struggling in REALLY bad spots. @iowa, UL, @ILL were games we pitched VERY well and lost. Ultimately, when you're 48th in baseball spending, you get about 48th in the country results.... and that's what we've seen.
-
I watch every game and every inning. There is a 1-run difference between 13th and 8th.... Talk to me about the Friday night vs ILL, Midweek vs UL, the entire series against UCLA, Friday night game against Iowa.... those are the games that decided our season. Hell, the midweek against Xavier, IN ST.
-
I'm not sure what would be disappointing about it... he was avg 17p 7r as a true FR through 11-12 games and then had an ankle injury.
-
huh? Not true, the hitting has been just as bad in key games that we have lost.
-
#1 doesn't mean a hill of beans to me. Trey Kaufmann RS his FR year, and Trey was considerably more physically developed than Sisley. Trey Kaufman was T50. It should be about what's best for each kid. I also don't really see CBB as "doing well at developing" talent, so maybe they need to look into different routes to develop kids.

I hope we heavily look into/use that option. It clearly works for other programs.
