(2021) PF Trey Kaufman to Purdue
Ajwhitis replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Yes you are over analyzing that comment. Some stuff has been made about Lander and Kaufman not playing together in the past however experts think it's not as deep as some have made it seem. Furst going to Pudue helps Indiana a lot because they play the same position and the odds of them playing together are really low. Kaufman made multiple visits to Bloomington this year so that is a great sign! It's believed IU is in the drivers seat for TK, but don't count out Xavier for him. They seem to be the only real competition at this point, Louisville may be a distant 3rd. -
(2021) PG Khristian Lander to Western Kentucky U.
Ajwhitis replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
FWIW, seems like Louisville is out on Zion Harmon. At least that is what I was told this morning. Coming down to Western Kentucky and Seton Hall. The Lander recruitment will be a rock fight between IU and Louisville. -

I really, really want this kid in an IU jersey. Just seems like an absolute stud. -
(2021) PG Khristian Lander to Western Kentucky U.
Ajwhitis replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Can promise you Lander will not take a bench role anywhere he goes. Kid is way too good and he knows it, not a negative at all, just don't think there's any chance. Just my belief but I think he is a Louisville lean right now from what I have read, and heard from people who are well versed in the IU recruiting world, although no one has said it explicitly. That being said, my eyes are on Zion Harmon, the 5 star PG who is expected to reclassify to 2020 and is announcing his college choice March 24th. The reason for this being, if Harmon commits to Louisville, that only means great things for IU for this recruitment, for obvious reasons. Harmon visited Louisville this previous Saturday and sounds like he enjoyed it and it made an impact with him. Will it be enough? Guess we will see. -
This board has become more toxic than Chernobyl. Yikes. Can't complain about the entertainment level though. Thanks all!

(2020) PF/C - Dawson Garcia to Minnesota
Ajwhitis replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
There's not really any momentum swinging anywhere right now... It's been so quiet that no one knows what's happening. The fact that we aren't hearing MU taking a large lead is a great sign. I actually think IU put themselves in the best position possible. At the end of the day, you sit down and say it's Indiana vs. Marquette, pro's and con's, it seems like IU wins out. I remember him saying Bloomington feels like home, and I think that is why he will be a Hoosier. If he ends up being a Golden Eagle then so be it, Archie put us in the position to get him and the ball didn't bounce our way, things are trending up, we will all be okay. -

This rumor has been debunked by Rabs. My bad y’all, I stick by the rest of what I said but it seems a lot of people got pulled into the decision date being this week. -

Not particularly, everyone I've heard from is pretty split, as we've been seeing. Unfortunately I don't think we'll truly know until hours before the announcement. -

Ajwhitis replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Well I first saw it on the Peegs board, then talked to a couple writers I talk to when it comes to this stuff from time to time. I'm far from an insider but it all seems really consistent. I trust the guys I talked to, but this recruitment as a whole has been pretty hush hush so a rumor like that can swirl really really quick. -

Seems a decision is coming soon, by the weekend soon. Not completely sure of the legitimacy, but just thought I'd let y'all know. -
(2020) PF/C - Dawson Garcia to Minnesota
Ajwhitis replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I think it's quite obvious to say that no one knows where Dawson will go, anyone claiming they know, is likely lying. If this goes past the early signing period, I'd feel way worse about this whole recruitment. Gives more time for Minnesota and Memphis to develop relationships, and if I'm being honest, Minnesota would have a really, really good shot there. Here's how I see it,. Decides in the next couple days= Good for Marquette Decides around the 20th= Good for IU Doesn't decide soon= Good for everyone else -

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

What are you even saying dude... You legitimately have given up all types of logic ffs. -

Ajwhitis replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
People show up to drink, not watch their bud announce for a rival school. I'm in college and have friends that come visit often, I get it. Also would definitely view a big day like this as a family oriented day, especially in a tight knit family like the Brooks' seem to be. -

Ajwhitis replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
You are as ignorant as it gets dude. Why the hell would a person drive two hours to go hang with someone for literally a few hours. You're literally throwing all types of logic out the window, then backing over it with a car, then hitting it again. I think he's going to Kentucky honestly, but the story that they're just going to "chill" is sooooooooooo dumb. Hate to break it to ya. -

Ajwhitis replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Hottest of hot takes. Call me crazy, I don't think driving a couple hours to go watch my bud pick a different school is the best way to "hang out". Especially considering Keion will be swarmed with media regardless, and also TJD has a game tomorrow so like, no. If they were that desperate to see each other I don't think they'd be "best friends". That's just me though my guy. -
RIP - Terry Hutchens - 1958-2018

https://www.heraldbulletin.com/sports/terry-hutchens/article_a5b40bea-0551-11e9-a0a1-37fa1dc28512.html Sadly, it was announced that Terry Hutchens passed away today at the age of 60. Thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Hutch. Hit attitude and personality has left a permanent imprint on the students, and peers he worked with on the IU beat and he will be dearly missed. RIP Hutch. -

From what I heard, Dakich let it slip that it was a seizure despite the fact that the family of Hutch asked for the details not to be given to the public. Classic, disrespectful Dakich.
