This guy can flat out coach. Modern basketball too. He will be easy to root for and someone our fanbase should get behind. Most of us have wanted a complete staff change for the better part of 2+ years and that day has arrived. I can’t wait to see what the remainder of the staff and new roster is going to look like! Let’s Go Hoosiers!

Here is my take and I feel most of us would agree at this point. I’m still highly skeptical that we land Stevens… but I’d love to see him get the job, if for no other reason than to watch the media eat their words about everything they’ve said about the program. The vindication for Dolson and IUBB would be absolutely glorious.

Just relaying info from an immediate family member to Mick. Take it or leave it. I grew up and live in Cincy. He was happy to join the PAC12 where he thought he could assert himself and consistently win. That’s not the case in the B1G. Much better conference top to bottom with no off nights. If he leaves UCLA, which he isn’t, it wouldn’t be for a B1 G school.

I don’t have many contacts, but I know someone close to the Cronin family. He will not be our guy. He was pissed when UCLA joined the B1G as he didn’t like that brand of ball. That was part (not all) of the reason he went west when he was on the market previously.

The Smart article was not posted as a position of support from me as a HC. Only to show that every person is looking for something different. All of our opinions are “arbitrary” as it relates to this search. There is no guarantee with hiring a new HC. The winners that came before this current search did not pan out and RMK went 11-13 in his last year before moving to Bloomington. I personally don’t think we need a former IU player leading the team, but another coach on the bench would certainly be great (Lewis and Smart are at the top of my list). None of us are SD, but we should trust that he is every bit of the fan that we all are and then some. He’s going to make the hire that he feels is best for the program and we all need to support that decision. I think most casual/non NBA fans would be extremely surprised by the success Woodson could have. The guy has so much experience in the league and IU ties. Regardless of what people want to believe, the NBA is the dream for every kid that comes to our school to play.
