Vandy is garbage with a garbage coach. They are oversigned and are a Nike school and he plays Adidas AAU. Garland would be the only reason and to me it's not the deciding factor it's made out to be. The only person who has really pushed the package deal we are best friends is Garland. Romeo has never said they were a package deal. If just seems like the media has run with that since Romeo has looked at the same schools. It's really hard to know what Romeo thinks because he isn't one for the spot light. I believe he knows things we don't. He's well versed on his brothers tactics and did some coverage with the Perrea recruitment. It's possible he may have some distrust of Bryce for that reason. That's my read. He is an IU fan. But I've never known or seen him make a dig at another program, just because he's simply worried IU may lose out on a recruit. It sounds like he knows or doesn't like how they approach recruiting. If the rumor is true that he has told reporters privately they are the leaders that's pretty unethical. All of this stuff is speculation. It's also hard to know what sources are getting stuff actually connected to Romeo or his family. They seem to keep things very close to the vest. Even people with those level of connections are only speculating. Right now the recurring narrative has been Vanderbilt for two big reasons. Garland and if rumors are true, Drew telling reporters privately they are in the lead. The optics make it seem like Vandy is in the lead but it's hard to tell. I know it will be hard for him to say no to Garland. But Indiana is a more logical choice. I think he probably really isn't sure. I think he's really grappling with this decision. I think this mostly is the chatter that was created by Vanderbilt that had been going on for awhile. I think Indiana has a better shot now. Living in New Albany I can tell you this is partly bias by KS TV. This is trash talk bias from a trash network that represents a trash fan base. Listening to Matt Jones is a leading cause of cancer. I heard it as ap2345 stated as a rumor that he was told privately. Which to me sounds like something that is unethical but maybe not against NCAA rules? I don't think it's fair to just act like Bryce is dirty because his brother is. I think everyone should be judged for their actions. But assuming this is true I can't help but be feel like this is something his brother would do. A lot of the things I've heard his brother does are often just petty and unethical and not so much NCAA violations. Mind you I'm not saying his brother hasn't ever committed any. Fair enough. I will have to do some digging. As I recall I read this was some response rabjohns or someone else said because Eric Bossi was making these statements about the growing distance. And then someone said Rabjohns or someone else on premium board said he got that from Drew. I don't know if I misread this. I apologize if my post sounded more like an accusation. I don't want to drag this kid or his family through the mud. Me wondering the circumstances may come off that way. I hope it's like you said it's over friendship. It's just very unusual to say the least. I hope whatever decision he makes it's the best decision for him and I wish him luck. I just don't have much confidence we are getting him. What kind of recruits did he bring to Valpo? Did he ever get anyone to the NBA? He may have played in the NBA but he was never a star. I'm not even saying he's a bad coach. Clearly he had a great record at Valpo but the competition was way different. When can you ever remember a coach going from a low tier conference to a top tier football conference. And the school he goes to is not even a basketball school. Then he declares he wants to make them a final four team.
