I always talk about this with my dad. I constantly tell him that most coaches would leave their respective jobs to coach IU. It doesn't matter how long IU has been down. IU is still a blue blood basketball program and people around the country know that
That reminds me of those damn turncoat fans. IU basketball but Notre Dame football. Oh god that enrages me to the highest degree. Glass has done a great job with football, women's basketball and baseball. All of those sports have improved since he took over as AD. But I've been on record as saying that if Glass brings back Crean after this season, he needs to go too
I honestly didn't hate Vonleh at the time because that team was dead either way. And we knew why he was sitting out. Draft stock to an extent but he absolutely hated Crean
You're right on it my man. Tubby Smith won a national championship and all those regular season SEC championships and SEC tournament championships. And yet, he was fired because of underachievements in the NCAA tournament. He made it to just the one Final Four in his first season. Subsequently, he won his lone national championship that season
A lot of programs will crap their pants once IU gets a competent coach. Good lord Crean is awful. All of these god awful game situation coaching skills. The fact we remember almost every single one of them. Lol this guy is awful. Cmon Billy Donovan. Restore IU
I was done after the Syracuse debacle. There was no excuse that team didn't go to at least the Final Four. But they should've won the national championship. I knew IUs fate with Crean after that game. I have wanted him gone ever since that catastrophe of a game
Yeah playing an 18 game regular season conference schedule should matter more than a 5 day tournament. The regular season champion used to be the automatic bid. It should still be that way. Conference tournaments pretty much devalue the regular season
No matter how much I hate conference tournaments, yes they matter. The committee seems to put more stock in those championships than regular season conference championships. I don't understand that but they're here to stay. I never expect IU to win that damn thing lol
Because they went downhill for the last four games. When they were 24-3 after that win at Michigan State, they were clearly the best team. They were before that game though. IU would have been the overall number 1 seed had the season ended that day. Not that it matters because it wasn't but I'm just saying
I'm just telling you what I saw man. I'm sure IU cared but it sure didn't look like it. I loved that team with Cody, Jordy, Victor, Sheehey and Watford. I'm sure they didn't tank the game. But it was such a piss poor effort that day
My biggest gripe with that team though was that I knew that was gonna be Crean's best shot to win a national championship at IU. They didn't deliver and I was so mad because not only were they so good but I knew he wouldn't have that talented a team ever again at IU. I was literally heart broken
