The NBA has put in new rules. The second apron tax cap rules have just been implemented in the last year or so. It makes things much more difficult to do what the Warriors did.

Has Stevens ever had to handle a full blown rebuild as a front office executive? Not saying he couldn't do it but he walked into a nice situation.

Here's the problem. The Celtics are for sale. Anytime a new owner comes in there's a chance they will want their own front office people. The other thing is the Celtics have a very expensive roster that doesn't have much wiggle room. They are over the second apron with restricts what kind of moves they can make with their roster. Next year they are losing key pieces and some pieces are getting older. They will have an even more expensive roster next year with very little flexibility. There's a good chance they are headed towards having to trade some dudes and rebuild in the very near future. If that isn't done right Boston will be up in arms.

You clearly don't understand the situation that the Celtics are in financially and with ownership. It's not great.

The stuff was exaggerated. Both had issues but it was a bad fit from the start. Woodson didn't even know Fife was a former player.
